Whelan was ace in the second half. Wilson was ace for the whole match. N'Zonzi is still a complete cunt. Hoillett should sign for us. Crouch scored with a world class finish, great technique. Shame to see Fuller not come on. Steve Kean looks like Karl Pilkington's dad. Officials were a bit shit.

Agree with most of that, Whelan definitely improved 2nd half but his passing was still fucking shit half the time. Reckon we'll see Whitehead + Palacios for Kiev.
Wilson + Crouch seem to be a lot better with the long balls as he aims them more to his chest.
As much as N'Zonzi is a cunt I wouldn't mind him here, Hoillett should be a definite signing (especially if he won't sign a new contract).

Just got back, Delap motm today, however I still wouldn't start him ahead of Palacios. 1st half we were shaky to say the least. 2nd half we were brilliant, Ethers played well again and Wilson was pretty awesome too, great win Stoke!

Majority of Ether's play was excellent, his crossing was fucking woeful though.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis: "We've had a difficult start to the season in terms of games, injuries and form but we've had ups and downs before and we will again.
"The difference this season is that we're on a different journey with our European games and it's tough to juggle.
"But this was a good win for us today. We played well, created lots of chances and got what we deserved."
Blackburn boss Steve Kean: "The miss from Mauro Formica at the start of the second half was crucial. If that goes in it changes things completely.
"But I don't think we played that badly today - we created chances and we're disappointed not to have taken them. I looked at the statistics and we had 15 shots on goal, 10 of them on target.
"What we've got to do now is work on the training ground at shutting the door at the back - and the good news is that we have senior players like Ryan Nelsen and Chris Samba to return and strengthen us in defence. There are some good things happening here but at the moment our play is not getting the rewards it deserves."

Fuck off were10 shots on target. I can think of 2, the shot tommy parried and the goal.
Much better. Rory and Glen played better individually but our centre is still wide open. Passing is still a concern but i can look past it for now. Decent goals. Walters needs one for the effort he's putting in.
Tommy for the number one spot, Huth nailed on for CB please.
Well done Stoke, lets build on this

Very scrappy at times today but with every goal we scored you could see the players confidence returning, good stuff!
Blackburn are doomed if they don't get their shit together soon.
Only slight annoyance was didn't put a bet on as I was going to have Stoke to win 3-1... Oh well, not even arsed as three points was what we needed today and we got 'em... Goarrn Stoke!

The second goal settled us down. Before that we still looked a little nervy but the second half performance was much better. Our passing and final ball into the box is still woeful but a much needed 3 points in the bag. A decent performance on Thursday should bring some confidence back, and maybe we will see Palacios and Ric given a bit of a run out. Blackburn are possibly the worst prem side to visit the Brit so lets not get too carried away, the first half wasnt good and a better side would have punished us for our wayward passing but footballs all about confidence, and that comes from winning. Great result but still work to do. Onwards and upwards folks, onwards and upwards...

He's starting to sound deluded, I thought they were pretty hopeless tactically (5 easily bypassed in the middle and one immobile lump up front) and performance-wise, we just looked like we wanted to win more. They're not a poor group of players though, I'm pretty sure Big Sam would be doing alright with this team. How much have their chairmen fucked that club up? They've come in and pretty much straight away just turned an established Premier League team into relegation fodder. What awful, awful bosses. I hope they go down just so they get the decision to replace Big Sam rubbed in their face.

Whelan MOM for me, in the first half an hour he seemed to be the only player with any drive and determination.
The first goal was crucial, helped us settle down and play with so much more confidence- you could see that it lifted the whole team.
Ethers' back is obviously a lot better, although he (and everyone else) couldn't cross for toffee today. Marc Wilson helps him out no end down the wing as well, by actually passing the ball into his feet.
Pennant didn't look right again, but you only had to see the way he celebrated with the rest of the team for the first two goals to know that this rumour about him being disruptive is bollocks.
Thought Walters had one of those games where nothing seemed to work for him, good pass for Whelan's goal though. Saw him on the car park after the game; he's a lot smaller than he looks on the football pitch, which surprised me.
Crouch had another solid performance. His link up play with Walters is fine when the ball's on the ground, but neither of them have quite sussed out flicking the ball on to the other. His goal was a bit ungainly, and if Robinson had stuck a foot out, rather than try and get his hand to it, he might have saved it, but the technique was superb. Was it his weaker foot as well?
As an aside, I really feel sorry for the Blackburn fans and what's happening to their club. I get the feeling that if (when) they go down they'll plummet though the leagues. Sad.

It is kind of a pisser isn't it, under fat head sam they were similar to us very tough to beat but did enough to keep them well away from the drop zone. They now have a manager that no fucker in the Blackburn area wants and bosses who seem to think they know what they are doing by extending his contract.
