PS3 has broken! Gutted. Summer holidays, shit weather and no fucking Fifa! I turn it on, it's on for about 3 seconds, screen doesn't even load before it shuts off. It beeps and a yellow light appears once. It the flashes red a few times. I assume this is 'Yellow light of death' Anyone know where I can get it fixed? And how much it costs? Cheers

This happened to me a year or two ago, can't remember much about it but I now have a new PS3, which suggests it was just cheaper to buy a new one.

When my Xbox broke I got it fixed by a local bloke who just does it in his spare time, it only cost about £30, took 2 days and he brought it to my door when it was fixed. I can't remember who it was, but I just found him through Google, I searched for something like "game console repairs in Stoke". Might be worth doing that and seeing what you find

Happened to mine a couple of years ago, it's something that'll happen to all 'fat' PS3's.
If you get it repaired then it's just a matter of time before it'll happen again (costs like £70 as well).
My advice would be to get a new slim one.

No Donks the one on the left is bigger. It's also wider, or fatter; hence fat and slim. Therefore the one on the right is the slim.. For fuck sake...

As said, you can get it repaired for 30-50 quid or get a slim with a decent bundle. I'd go for the repair as it looks like next generation will be out at the end of next year. Only thing is you'll get more money when you come to sell it should you get a new one.
My old faithful 40gig fatty is still going, it's taking longer to load, it's louder but it'll make it another year. God bless you fatty.

My big, fat, release day 60GB PS3 died in November 2010. A really upsetting day, I stopped drinking and eating just to spend the remaining student loan I had for that term on a brand new one RIP
