It's a funny old situation isn't it. The industry was crying out for next gen consoles, then when we get them, there's 'no games'. Granted if you have a distinct taste for a certain type of game, you're not going to be spoiled for choice. But what do people expect at the start of a new cycle? I think I've actually had more variety in this console launch than any before. Killzone, Resogun, Assassins Creed 4, Need for Speed, Battlefield 4, Outlast, Tomb Raider, Dead Nation, Don't Starve. That's only the games I've played. I can only think that the whining is coming from people that have sold their 360's/PS3's and don't have PC's. Next week Metal Gear Demo and Infamous are released, Titanfall is out on Xbone today. How is that not a decent launch? There's been a fair bit of speculation as to what OPM were hinting at: Could be anything from Crash Bandicoot, a Resident Evil reboot, exclusive Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, or Fallout. It'll probably be a fucking Syphon Filter reboot.

I'm not disappointed with the launch, I'm just disappoint with the console as a whole. It's so fucking old. Everything in it is practically decrepit. This is the first time that I've (ever) genuinely not wanted a Playstation. It's just utterly pointless. It's not pushing any boundaries and it's only going to be holding gaming back for next 5/10 years (well the Xbox will, but that's not the point). I've moved on to PC but I'm definitely not an elitist, I loved all of my Playstations (and I've had every single one) but, exclusive games apart and that's something else that fucks me off, there's just nothing that it offers to me.

Until companies give users the option of self upgrading their consoles, this will always be the case to keep customers coming back and keep prices relatively low. I don't think it'll be holding back gaming at all. Not at least until another 5-6, maybe even 7 years time when the disparity between consoles and PC ports become painfully obvious.

Another reason magazines as a news format is dead. Knew about this last fucking week! Epic fail guys.

Usually it's fine. Most console releases have pushed the boundaries of what PC's at that time can do, it's only after 5-7 years that the gaps really start to show. The issue is that these consoles have been released with 5 year old tech. That means that they're already behind most gaming PC's in what they can handle.

Sony have announced a VR headset for the PS4 currently called Project Morpheus. Now that would make it interesting.

Rift for life yo!
Unless I buy a PS4, then I'll prolly get one of them as well.
Needs headtracking though like the latest oculus rift.

Yeah it'll be interesting to see if it actually does anything different to the Rift or if it's just a branded rip off. Do either of the consoles actually support the Rift, if they do then it'd obviously seem like the better option because then you could use it across platforms.

Apparently got head tracking by the light bar (like the DS4 / Move remote's). I've been proper excited to see what dev's can do with Rift, so the fact that Sony are sinking big money into VR makes me squeal inside a bit. I didn't think VR would be implemented this generation.

It's great to have competition but I can't see there being support for the rift from sony if they are making their own version.
If done properly like the rift it will revolutionize the way we play games completely, very exciting stuff.
Microsoft should seriously counter the move by supporting the Rift.
A cross platform VR Headset would be a big positive for them if they don't produce their own.

Can you imagine playing games like Skyrim or Battlefield with VR? The thought gives me a bit of a lob on.

Football Manager VR is where it's at. Great. I can watch my players fuck up for no reason from the touchline instead of from the tv camera...
