Just seen the highlights. Four absolutely top class goals from us. Ireland's through ball for the last one was brilliant, the finishes for the others were all brilliant. Bizarre when contrasted with the ones we conceded which were all truly awful. Absolutely 100% a red card! God knows what he was doing! Assaidi tries to make a run and Elliot just puts his elbow into his face to block him. Was a bit worried Assaidi may have conned the ref but couldn't have been more wrong. Hoping the defensive lapses can be put down to complacency. On the plus side, Assaidi and Muniesa had good games and we've managed to score four very good goals which hopefully will give Assaidi, Crouch and Marko the confidence to grab some more on Saturday. Pretty much spot on that. I didn't see the Elliott incident, I was watching a scarf lady in the front row just to the right of it all. Aged about 70, she had roughly 20 scarves tied to her arms, must be the Brummie equivalent of our Mabel I guess, so all I saw was Assaidi on the floor. If you got points for quality of goals we'd have been streets ahead, theirs were gifted to them by shit defending. Anyone got the highlights anywhere?

I was out for most the night. Can anyone give a brief low down? Did Walters take a penalty?

Nope, wasn't on the pitch. Unused sub.
Shawcross went second, very neatly done. In fact all our pennos were quality. Makes you wonder why Nzonzi doesn't have a go in a match.

Quote from the Brum forums:
The most frustrating that has come from last night is the fact that we can go out and perform like that against big teams,
Aaw, he likes us.

Can't agree more with Turts, our defence is fucking dire at the moment. Gone is the straight forward thinking that nothing would get through that back line. Wilson especially needs to have a quiet word with himself because he's been fucking awful whenever called upon this season and apparently had a hand in shipping all the goals. Piss poor.

Assaidi and Arnie goals were brilliant. Looks like it was a great game.

Wow. I know Sorro has been nowhere to be seen but that was piss poor. Southampton should be fun.

Happy that Crouch appears to be hitting some form. We need him to carry that on.

Sorro poor; Wilson v poor; Muniesa lovely on the ball and going forward, but defensively I'm not sure; Nzonzi gives the ball away a lot and will get sent off soon.
Arnie is absolute quality, a touch above everything else on the park. Palacios is a quality player too no idea what's going on with him.

Highlights for any that want them. First time I've seen that Elliott incident. Not only does he move towards him to block him off he also forearms him in the face! And the Blues fans around me were calling Assaidi a cheat!

Tommy very poor for Brum's 3rd and 4th goals (based on that video). Been a big player for us in the past, and I know it's not easy to play so irregularly, but he was much the same against Swindon in the cup last year. Can't see him here next season, regardless of what happens with Bego.
On a more positive note, 4 good finishes, 4 decent penalties.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24744595Shawcross says the defence, himself included, need to have a fucking word with themselves. Still think we are missing a dirty midfield destroyer in front of them next to NZonzi. Leroy Fer would have done the job, and at a very good price! That and a ST have to be priority in the transfer market.

Leroy Fer is very very far from a defensive destroyer. Nothing like that kind of player. I think Palacios can do it perfectly fine once his match fitness is up. Did an excellent job of it for 60 minutes at Old Trafford.

Norwich earmarked the midfielder behind the forward for Fer, bit like us with Ireland. He gives away too many fouls and gets too many cards to be a destroyer.
