Nice to see those 2 scoring. They've copped a fair bit of stick recently (some of it justified) but they should be 2 of our best players, nice to see them stepping up today.

If we fuck this up, then fair fucking play to us.
As it stands, I'm very content!

That'll do nicely!
The defence looked more like its old self today which is pleasing as that was becoming a huge worry.
Created a fair bit too which is another improvement.
Up to 14th, just got to keep working at the new system and we'll get there hopefully.

Lets not get carried away; we've played a shit Sunderland side at home agains ten men for 2/3 of the match.
The points and confidence boost are most welcome though with a VERY tough away game coming up next week.

Even though we massively needed the three points, that performance was just as encouraging than the result was. Whelan looked excellent playing deep (and I'm not a huge fan of his,) Geoff was immense and God knows how he didn't get an assist with some of the great balls he put into the box, Pieters for me had his best game in a Stoke shirt and Crouch won absolutely everything in the air.
Really encouraging stuff!

That all sounds very positive. What did you make of it, Pick?

That all sounds very positive. What did you make of it, Pick? I enjoyed the game thanks. We played well all game IMO. Would of liked to have killed the game off earlier with all the play we had but happy with the performance and crucially the result. The red card obviously helped us but who gives a fuck, we won for a change.

Yay, good for you, Pick.
No downsides at all? I didn't see any of it I'm afraid, so in complete ignorance of how we played, how much the ref helped etc etc

Thought we did well at times today, really should have scored more but 2-0 in any premier league match is a great result. Thought Cameron was deserving of his man of the match award and was pleased with Crouchy's performance in the first 70 minutes but in the last 20 mins we needed to bring on another striker, shame we didn't have one. Maybe we should play Andy Wilkinson up front. When he got forward he had only one thing on his mind and that was to shoot unlike our actual forwards who far too often try to walk the ball into the net or go for a funky flick or a couple of extra touches instead of twatting the ball at the goal.
P.S. I'm not really been serious about Wilco up front!
P.P.S. Fuck off you Mackam pigfuckers.......... Goooaaarrrn Stoke!

Still a few instances when they were 1 man down that we'd let them stroll through midfield, better teams would really punish us, but our defense was back to its resolute self, apart from a few lapses in the first. Geoff was great, well worth MOTM. Crouch was very good, both holding the ball up and clearing balls in defense. Very pleased we managed to put 2 past them pricks.

I'm starting to think that Arsene Wenger was right about us under Pulis. I couldn't really see it before because of blind loyalty for my team but now that we're playing world class carpet football it's becoming more and more apparent that lesser players playing for smaller teams with worse tactics are targeting our stars.
That's twice in two games now that teams have gone way too far whilst trying to rough us up, we had the death-nudge on N'Zonzi against Swansea - yes we were awarded the penalty but is that enough punishment for an offence that quite possibly ruined N'Zonzi's career for a couple of days? It's a fucking miracle that he put a potentially broken neck and all of the trauma behind him to come back and score today. He deserves a lot of credit for that and I'll be sure to mention the incident every time N'Zonzi's name is mentioned and hope that everybody else does the same.
Then the fucking next game Wes Brown dives in using his feet, with studs on his boots, metres away from Charlie Adam's spine. Un-fucking-believable. Seriously now, is it time to outlaw tackling? And I don't just mean in football, I mean in society. Bring back hanging n'all.
Justice for the Stoke 2.
