It's an improvement but it's still limited at the moment, Rocket said it will be in Alpha for ages so the price won't go up for some time.
If I win on the football tomorrow i'll buy it you. ;D

Fair enough. ;D
I bought Rust instead. It's also in Alpha but I feel that even though the game itself is at an earlier stage, it has a lot more potential and depth than DayZ. It already has awesome crafting and world building features (You can build yourself a giant base). It's essentially a mix between Day Z and Minecraft. My one worry for both games is that seems to be very little over-arching story (the same as Minecraft), all you're doing is surviving which I guess will get boring after a while. They need things like random airdrops to provide objectives (which will hopefully come later in development).

I've been keeping a close eye on rust, there are already random airdrops in the game and it makes for good pvp from what I've seen. A bit like the chopper crash sites on DayZ (mod) where people make a b-line for them and war ensues.

Yeah they need more stuff like that to keep it interesting.

Also its a joke that's its alpha and that they are going jack the price up apparently. From what I've read the worst bugs are still around including zombies hitting through objects, combat logging and many more From what I can see they just tidied up some menus, added some clothes and improved melee combat maybe ? I'll stick with arma 3 for now but I do miss my dayz fix, hopefully somewhere will have it on offer sometime.

It'll probably be half price in the Summer Sale, and by then I'd hope that a lot of the bugs will have been worked out of the base game and they'll have added a fair bit of stuff.

It's still very rough round the edges but hopefully all the cash they've earnt will help.
I like the idea of buying into alpha's but they shouldn't be so expensive, the reason it worked so well with minecraft was because it was so cheap to start with, even Arma 3 was a bit of a pisstake although you knew it was gonna be worth it in the long run. That's not necessarily the case with some other games.
7 Days To Die is another one, looks interesting but to buy into the alpha when it's not on sale it's £26,how much is it gonna be when it's fucking finished?
