Fair play to Mancini, friendly or not the kid needs to be brought down a peg or two.

Fuck offfffffff.
If it went in everyone would be creaming over goal of the century.
This is basically saying people shouldn't attempt skill, it's disrespecting the opponent.
Rooney's goal vs Man City, the bicycle kick.
That should of been disallowed because it was disrespect.
It was only a friendly too!

The only way Rooney could score was via an overhead kick due to his positioning and improvised with absolute brilliance Balotelli could've gently sidefooted it past the keeper like 99.99999% of all footballers with half a brain cell would've done. Instead, he decided to take the piss. If it'd gone in, it still would've gone down as pure arrogance and disrespect You cannot compare the two

Skill in the middle of the pitch too.
Instead of passing it, or running round, players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho use skill to get past opponents.
That's taking the piss, that's disrespectful.
Let's have no skill in the game.

So what he could of easily scored, he tried something different.
It's like this guy...
Fucking genius.

Fuck sake! Penkhull is right on this one.
It's a fucking friendly match, not like it's a big game or even a game that fucking matters.
Good on him for telling Mancini what a pathetic useless cunt he is for subbing him.
He might be a prick a lot of the time but christ to vilify him for this is stupid. FUCKING FRIENDLY GAME!

It doesn't matter whether its a friendly or the World Cup final. You should still always take the game seriously and show the team some respect. They are preparation for the league games, not a general doss. And Nam Rood, are you saying that because Balotelli has a wild history he should get away with anything? Mancini has done the right thing by showing him that being a complete prat comes with consequences. By subbing him in the 31st minute straight after the incident its showing him what you can and can't do and punishing him when he thinks he's bigger than the game.

It's a training game, nothing more. Gives him no right to disrespect a lesser opposition at all. Not even kids are stupid and arrogant enough to attempt something as ridiculous as what Balotelli did because of those reasons. Also, this will be seen by millions and think "What an arrogant bastard that Man City player is". Not exactly a quiet fitness exercise away at Newport YMCA is it? The key part being he represents Man City. Doesn't look good for the club or himself Mancini has gone up slightly in my estimations by showing that regardless of it being a friendly or not, his stupidity and constant disrespect to other teams and other people can not go unpunished. Also, the bloke probably felt embarrassed. He's backed this lad up, made excuses for his behavioural problems and general stupidity and that's how he thanks his club, its fans and his manager, all the people who've stood by him when they didn't have to Here's a question for everybody. What would be the verdict if one of our own had done this? Me personally, I'd be a bit pissed off, even if we'd scored from it, just for the above reasons

It's a fitness game, nothing more. If it'd been done by Berbatov or Drogba fuck all would've been made of it. Just people wanting to stick the boot in with a player who's had discipline problems. Then again I doubt either of their managers would've been pathetic enough to sub them. Like Penkhull said, why bother with skill at all if it's so disrespectful. Do you find Ronaldo doing 10815939572 step overs before putting a cross in disrespectful? For the last time IT'S A FUCKING TRAINING GAME! The result doesn't matter in the slightest so why shouldn't he try a trick shot? Better then than in an actual game. When playing football with mates, we try trick shots and fuck about. I'm such a disrespectful cunt to them

Whether it's right or wrong, acceptable or not, disrespectful or not, the only thing that is certain is that balotelli needs his face chopping off.

I'm such a disrespectful cunt to them Are you and your mates playing on a global stage and getting paid thousands a week to perform, represent a club and a profession? Nope. Are you also expected to perform to a certain level and show something called "sportsmanship" to your opposing players? Sportsmanship is defined as.. "Conduct and attitude considered as befitting participants in sports, especially fair play, courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing". Is there anywhere in that footage that adheres to that? No there is not. He is expected to adhere to that at a bare minimum. Comparing his behaviour in that footage to you and your mates mucking around in a park is a poor argument There was no skill in what he did, mainly because he messed it up. It would've been more skilful if he'd finished it. Skill isn't just limited to, as you put it, "..doing 10815939572 step overs..", a skill can be passing a pass over forty yards with precision or finishing in a one-on-one situation. You're defining skill as just using trickery ( "..stepovers.."). Would you also care to point out where I'm discouraging the use of skill? "..It's a fitness game, nothing more..". So why is he even bothering attempting a bit of trickery? As you say, it's a fitness game, nothing more. No time for trickery, just get fit. That's it, nothing more. Finished "..If it'd been done by Berbatov or Drogba fuck all would've been made of it..". They've got the respect and sportsmanship to not even bother attempting this sort of stupidity in the first place and would've simply have finished the ball. However, I know me personally would've reacted the same if they'd done the same thing. Wrongly assuming things once again "..Then again I doubt either of their managers would've been pathetic enough to sub them..". How do you know? Neither Drogba or Berbatov have been petulant enough to do something like this anyway and they never will. Assuming again, Christ above. I know if I'd done it in a friendly at Under 17s level, I'd expect to be immediately subbed and given a severe bollocking for such stupidity "..For the last time IT'S A FUCKING TRAINING GAME!..". No, it isn't. A training game occurs at training between your own teammates, this was a high profile friendly in the States against a team that Real Madrid played about a week back. Did you see any of Real Madrids players attempting this sort of ridculousness? Or even any of the other Man City players? No you did not because they know the value of getting sufficiently prepared for the new season and also the values of sportsmanship and respect at a minimum. Man City are approaching, arguably, their most important and challenging season in their history, the last thing they need during important preparations is someone mucking around and not taking it seriously. Mancini needs everyone on the same mindset, if they aren't, they've got enough money to get those who do not adjust accordingly replaced

If it we're anyone that's in relatively good standing with the media, they would be saying how great it was to see footballers enjoying themselves and having a cheeky crack at goal. Storm in a tea cup. Mancini won't tame him, I don't think he'll actually mature until he's about 30.

Ancelotti applauded this.
It was only a friendly, Benayoun wouldn't of done that in a PL match, same as Balotelli wouldn't have.
He was having a bit of fun, it's only a friendly, Balotelli tried something different just like Benayoun.
