Stoke are poised to resurrect their interest in West Ham star Carlton Cole.

It looked as though the £6million move for the England striker had fallen through last week, with the Potters unwilling to meet the former Chelsea forward's wage demands.

Cole is thought to be on around £40,000 at Upton Park, and is also rumoured to be on a hefty goal bonus, and is unwilling to take a signifcant pay cut.

But Britannia Stadium boss Tony Pulis, who has said he wants to sign five new players before the start of the season, is considering a second approach to the 27-year-old as he looks to bolster his striking options.
