Didn't you see the huge helping hand they had off a linesman, flagged a Dawson goal offside at 0-1 when he was about 2 yards onside, then flagged for a pen and a sending off for Rose when he got the ball. Obviously taken a bung ...

Great commitment by our 10 remaining players after the red card. Pissed off with the result as Sunderland are fucking gash. Altidore without his free kick winning cheating is nothing but a useless lump. Gus Poyet can go and fuck himself and Sunderland are lucky bastards. Their luck must run out soon, then it's bye, bye to the Makem cunters!

Jammy, jammy bastards. We were flat for the first 20 minutes, letting them score without posing a threat but we dominated the rest of the match and if it wasn't for the referee's need to give Altidore everything he wanted, we'd have won that comfortably. The only positive to take from that is that we're far better than Sunderland. If they finish above us in the table then I'll eat Altidore's hat. if sunderland finish above us i will let altidore eat my kids

It's all well and good taking in ifs and buts, but where the fuck are we picking up points from if we can't get a single fucking goal against such poor opposition. If they/ fulham/ palace/ Swansea/ Cardiff/ West Brom/ villa are terrible this season, what does it make us?

Exactly, Lew and that's what worries me. We've lost to a lot of our relegation rivals so far this season, and picking up wins against Chelsea and the like are not going to happen too often.
I must admit to being pretty concerned. If Guidetti and Odemwingie knock a few in we may be ok but I think we'll be struggling down where we are now until the end of the season. Maybe Huth coming back will make us more solid but it's really up top where we're struggling.

I think whether stay up or not, it's going to be a proper scrap down there for us from now till the end.

Reminded me of Fulham away, being the better team, having a load of chances to score; but the ball just didn't go into the back of the net.
Once again, good performance; but stupidity by Zonz to even go that close to Altidore with him being on a yellow card even though it was a massive dive.
Crouch once again is clearly the fault as to why we are gash upfront; soon as Odem went in the middle we looked even more dangerous with 10 men than we did in the first half.
Ref was terrible, wouldn't think twice of booking our players (Adam for e.g. booked for diving, but Ki clearly kicks his leg); yet wouldn't book their players (Johnson on Pieters was probably the worst tackle in the game and didn't even get a stern talking to).
I know we shouldn't blame luck and referee's; but we can't ignore that neither have been going our way for most of the season.
We can't keep playing this well and not getting anything it's just impossible, also luck will start to favour us eventually.

Disappointing is not the word for that. Not sure if the fact that we played so well for about 65 minutes makes losing worse or not.
Totally agree that we need someone other than Crouch up front... he links up play well with his back to goal, but there's no way he's going to get on the end of any through balls to actually finish moves off. Odemwingie up front on Saturday, or even give Guidetti a chance to put his money where his (seemingly massive) mouth is.
Is it just a one match ban for Zonz? I think he polarises opinions because so much is expected of him, but I would like to see a more defensive midfielder (Cattermole?) alongside Whelan to offer the back four more protection.
When is Huth back? I don't think Wilson's done badly at CB but last night showed why there's still a place for massive, cynical CBs in football. Huth would've been all over Altidore like a Zyklon B shower.

The real positive is that Altidore is a Sunderland player and not Stokes. He truly is the new Heskey. A big fat useless pit pony. I'd be embarrassed if he were a Stoke player.

Huth would've been all over Altidore like a Zyklon B shower. And I'm sure the ref would have given them a free-kick for it. Never seen a player help himself to so many decisions. Tied up with one of our defenders off the ball and chucked himself to the ground whenever it came near them, Shawcross drew the ref's attention to it quite early on so I was surprised that he kept getting rewarded for it - well, I'm not really surprised with our luck with refs this season; I'm actually more surprised that Adam wasn't sent off for a second ridiculous decision and them awarded a penalty for a challenge near the halfway line.
