It's not impossible when your dad is teaching you. You fail to check your mirror and he can beat you around the head and make your life an utter misery for three days. Trust me, if my father taught you, you'd be excreting at the thought of even attempting to get a minor. Thats only possible if you dad is a good driver of course my elder Sister passed first time after about 10-13 lessons, and then went straight onto IAM and RospA Gold standard, and she taught advance driving voluntarily till recently I'm considering some advanced Motorbike training, I could do with eradicating some of my courier bad habits ;D

7 lessons and passed 1st time in 1996. 150 quid spent in total. I am the driver!! Hate to burst your bubble,.....passed a week after me 17th birthday and had 4 lessons and a couple from my dad (which don't count as they didn't help) ......who thought doing an emergency stop whilst doing 50/ 60 mph was a good idea !! Not so sure myself but I went for it all the same, locked it up good and proper!! Needless to say we didn't try that manoeuvre again !!

2nd time. I agree with the OP!
One speeding ticket, one minor shunt, one going through red light, so I may not be right to agree with the OP!

I'm not going to list mine, suffice to say I do on average, 40,000 miles a year, and have done for the last 12 years, the equivalent of most people driving for 35-40 years. Most of which in the warzone that is London traffic

This is very useful information on driving and mistake made through driving. Last month, I took driving learning from a renowned Port Macquarie Driving School which provided good and qualified teachers for training. Got to learn lot from them.

Daughter passed first time last year, only the wife failed hers out of the 5 of us, and she's the one who constantly moans about all our driving.

Isn't that in Tasmania ?? Great first post that My apologies, its New South Wales. I will consider them if I ever go back in time and emigrate to Australia in my early teens.

Wrote the instructors car off the day before my test on Clayton roundabout. Went in and passed first time after that. Shit story.

Passed first time, theory and practical.
Cool, calm, collected. Easy.
To be fair, you've got to be some kind of retard to fail the theory (I know people who have failed 7 or 8 times!)

I failed first time for failing to provide a car for the test. Surely they cant do that, you didn't make a single error... apart from the obvious, obviously! I have a funny learning driving story, will have to see if I already posted it as I cant be arsed typing it again.

Passed 5th time- I think the instructor got fed up of me and just gave me a sympathy pass. On my first test I took a bend too sharp and nearly crashed into a pub doior- in Crewe only for the dual controls.
