Jagielka's upset. Phil Jagielka has called referee Martin Atkinson "arrogant" following Everton's controversial defeat by Manchester City in the League Cup semi-finals. The Toffees skipper says he tried to speak to Atkinson to discuss City's dubious second goal but was surprised at the official's response. "He told me my defending was brilliant," said Jagielka. "It's difficult when things start going the wrong way and they become a little bit arrogant." Everton were eventually beaten 3-1 on the night to lose the tie 4-3 on aggregate and therefore miss out on a League Cup final against city rivals Liverpool. But City's second goal was scored by Kevin de Bruyne after the ball appeared to go out before it was cut back by Raheem Sterling. "The replays show it's not just an inch or so out," said Jagielka. "You expect the officials that are supposed to be of a high standard to spot that, but this obviously wasn't one of those nights." The England defender was also "baffled" by the decision to penalise Everton for a foul throw in the build-up to the second goal. Atkinson took action when Toffees defender John Stones had not even thrown the ball in by the halfway line. "He told me it was a foul throw, but I don't understand how it can be a foul throw if you've not actually thrown the ball in," said Jagielka. BBC Sport contacted Professional Game Match Officials, the body which represents Premier League referees, but it declined to comment. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35431109

So I told him his refereeing was as flawless as usual, said Jagielka in response.

So I told him his refereeing was as flawless as usual, said Jagielka in response. Could easily have given a foul for Everton's goal. Stones refused to go back several yards taking the throw in despite being told to several times so entitled to give it the other way. Watching it live the ball looked well out but the linesman should be seeing that. Not sticking up for Atkinson but Everton had their decisions as well. They got away with a massive decision in the leaguer game as well.

Not to mention the Everton assault on De Bruyne that was never even given a foul (the first contact was inside the area) and has left him out injured for 10 weeks. Tunnel vision from Jagielka

Tunnel vision from Jagielka Seems he gave the throw in the other way for time wasting which was about right as he warned them several times. They did the same v us at 3-2 up but to be fair so do most sides but can't complain after being told to quit .

Greg Dyke is jumping ship, thanks for the massive changes you've done to English football during your 3 year reign on a massive salary... obviously seeing the door slam shut on all the backhanders just as he was getting into it with Michel turd face Platini

West Brom fans throwing coins at their players after they lost 3-1 at Reading. They were 1-0 up.
One hit Brunt and cut his eye.

A snippet from the baggies forum (change Rondon to Walters from 3 years ago) : -
He is to blame
It's under his watch that the wrong playing staff have been bought He keeps signing defensive players and playing players out of position Chester would probably be our best player if he was given A chance at centre half The full backs should have been played or moved on - but they have never had a chance Up front he lets rondon start every game but then bemoans match fitness of other players and tiredness for that player
We will never progress under him. I was really hoping villa would try to sign him from us or Newcastle which would be our best chance of getting rid

Chester and Rondon. Are all their players named after UK cities? They should make a move for Nigerian midfielder, Akpo Bongo Inverness

"Every little helps" Chelsea supporters threw coins at Manchester City players during today's FA Cup fifth-round tie at Stamford Bridge. What the fuck is up with some people, no wonder match ticket prices are so high. Club Chairmen up and down the country will see that fans have money to literally chuck away and bash another tenner on the cost of a ticket. Total bellends!

Went to see PSG v Marseille not so long back....when Marseille players were taking corners the police had to hold up riot shields to protect them from coins, zippos etc. Just seemed normal there. Those cheeky Frenchies
