So... Europe, HS fans pretty much what I expected those sCroats are just daft.
Football, well due to the fact that we have an ancient greek turnstyle system I missed the goal. I did get to see the second goal as I came in but that was disallowed (what a suprise)
On to what I saw of the game, well what really can I add other than where we left off last seaon powerful team full of energy an attempt to hold the ball a little more but as we tired so came the inevitable lump forward.
Once again we just waste too many good chances when we are on top of the game and as yet still not quite clinical enough and that is where new players with a bit of guile and pace would be more than welcome.
Thought Wilko did well as did Glen Whelan, Jones was his usual laid back self and Walters is just like the Tazmanian Devil.
Wingers both looked lively and defense looked solid enough and the defense seemed sound too.
Looking good to go for the start of the season but still we really need some fresh blood because the bench does look a little thread bare.

Wilko was a decent shout for MoM, if not, Rory or Super Jonny. He dealt with most threats that came his way and he came out if things we're looking to build up. He must of thrived playing for 'his' team in Europe.
I thought Rory, for (probably?) the oldest bloke on the pitch, looked the fittest of the lot, but it is the start of the season so hopefully he doesn't burn out.
A big problem last season that no one would anticipate the second ball that would eventually bobble about in the box and it was a big problem last night, where we could of had 2-3 more (scrappy) goals.
The glaring fact was the depth of the squad, I was racking me brains thinking who was on the bench upfront then it was clear, there was no cover. Cover upfront, one or two midfielders and cover for Ethers and Matty is desperately sought after in my opinion.

I thought rory man of the match
Whelan good first half, awful second.
Jones not interested
Super john was super
Back 5 played well
Pennant not one of his better games
Ethers great cross for the goal in a fine first half, touch desserted him in the second with tiredness.
All in all an excellent pre season workout which will benefit us for the return leg and start of season.

There's an article in the sen'ull with Tone saying we need 4 or 5 fresh faces but will only deal if it's right for the club financially. Are we in a position where we need to be excruciatingly tight where deals are concerned? I'm glad we told Carlton, Dann etc to fuck off because they were asking* for big money for who they are. But we need to get it done sooner or later with the right players.
I'd link it but my connection is playing up.

Didn't notice that at all. He'll never be a duracell bunny but for KJ i thought he was pretty sharp and up for it. Won practically everything in the air and put in a decent shift.

I thought he was his laid back self as mentioned before, he may do a tremendous amount of work but people will still call him idle because he has that really chilled out way of strolling about

Agree with Redsaturday. Rory was excellent, set up the goal, set up Ethers for his shot, very good. Wilko got stuck in as usual but lost it too often to get MoTM. Anyone see Huth take out both Hajduk players? He actually wins the ball first time then slides through and his boot connects with the mouth of the already grounded player, brilliant ;D Shame about the booking but he probably enjoyed it! All in all, not match fit obviously and got tired in last 30 mins but a good work-out. Can't see us going through with that lead though

well summed up Sid, Rory was very good. Big worry for next week will be the heat, and players getting tired, I think TP will only go with 1 winger at a time, unless we get some cover in, I could be wrong though
