Well it's all gone a bit shit. It received some pretty varied reviews, as low as 5, as high as 8. This morning they've said they're holding back the free PS+ version to help the servers for the people that are already playing. Absolute bullshit. They've probably had that many people cancel their pre-order for the full game, to test the PS+ version first. So they've pulled it in attempt to salvage some pre-orders.

They've fucked this up so hard, from the 'minor' launch delay, a fucking year delay, to this.

It does. They've nailed the lighting and the environments. Truth be told, the low scoring reviews are pretty poor as far as reviews go, but the one's that I've seen say the game is empty and a bog standard racer. However the better reviews say the game is really quite vibrant and exciting. Plus a number of people on NeoGaf that have been playing it for hours say it's a great game. For example, Digital Foundary seem to commentate more on the actual gameplay than the reviewer did, and seemed to really enjoy it.

The other thing that people are unanimous on is that the game has a shonky penalty system where if you cut an apex or if you get shoved up the arse by an AI or online opponent, you get marked down or in some cases slowed down for a brief period. They need to patch that shit out. Secondly, the snow and rain effects aren't in the game from launch, they're going to be patched in, that's really wank as both look phenominal.

m still going to get the free version if they do decide to drop it, but if the issue with the servers is true then it's quite concerning that they haven't got their shit together with a game that's all about being online and that's already been delayed for a year.
