I wish we had a full squad, firing on all cylinders because they're on the ropes at the moment and we could have really stuck it to them and their David Brent-esque manager. This is their form (in all competitions) at the moment:
L-L-L-L-D
I think the charity of Stoke City is going to help a struggling team to another 3 points though.

Gerrard on the bench for Liverpool. He's bound to come on and score a 90th minute equaliser for them, but Shenton will come on and score a 91st minute winner for us.

Scrappy as fuck.
We haven't passed the ball on the deck since Sidwell went off and it's stopping any of the forward players from getting in the game.

When you're playing shit And you can't buy a win Who you gonna call.... Stoke City
Some things in life are set in stone; we all knew Stoke would not score last week at home against Burnley, we all knew Stoke would not score at Anfield, we all knew Liverpool would get a late winner. You could ask any Stoke fan those things and they would all agree. It amuses/amazes me the fuss commentators make about such inevitable things.
I think we could be in the shit after this tricky run of games unless we pull a few surprise results out of the bag.

Really poor performance, perhaps understandable given the illness going round during the build up, but still worrying in the context of the season so far and the fixtures to come. We couldn't get a foothold in the game after Sidwell went off because we went into '5 passes at the back then a hurried hoof forward' mode, which suits absolutely no-one who started the game.

We need to spend some money in January because we look so ragged, even when we have a fairly full-strength squad. And Hughes was quoted as saying he doesn't expect to have cash to spend in January Our hopes rest on his teams being stronger in the second half of the season again, getting injured players back, a couple of surprise results here and there and a return to decent home form. Some big hopes in that lot. As ever, not going down is the first priority. Finishing 16th or 17th would be a shit season, but would still not be a disaster. I hope there are half a dozen teams down there who will simply lose more than we do.

It was an average performance but I still think we deserved a point and maybe all 3.
Not going to go full on doom merchant though, we know we've got a tricky run of fixtures, in which we're probably going to slip down the table a bit, but I've still seen more than enough this season to think we'll be more than safe.

I thought it felt like we were a Victor Moses away from bossing that game, we missed his guile down their weak side. We're getting absolutely raped by injuries at the moment, it's starting to feel like a relegation season with this luck (and frustration).
