I loved steino ;D Such a great touch and finish.
If the circumstances were the same as when we sold him, a championship club selling to a premiership club then 10million tops. To me he's priceless, it's a privelige to have watched the man in action.

Id love to see him at his best and playing for us now. I know he never quite did it at Chelsea but Im sure TP would get him firing on all cylinders. No matter where he picked the ball up you always felt something special was about to happen. I suppose value depends on the buying club. I wouldnt want Stoke to pay any more than 5 or 6 but if the big boys were fighting for him who knows ? Not forgetting fat face at blunderland whos willing to pay 12 mill plus for anyone ;D

for people saying £10M, you're under selling him.
British Transfer record at the time, was £3.7M paid for Roy Keane in July of that year. Steino sold for £1.5M, curremt British Transfer record is £50M, so percentage wise you are talking £20M ish (just saying)

No matter how you add it up, it wouldn't happen.

If steino was a player who was doing what he was doing in 92-95 in today's team in the top flight then at least 25 million.

Actually he started his career off at Chelsea on fire in fact he held the record for consecutive goal for the Blues up until he had and injury then change of management and slow recovery from his injury hindered his progress then Chelsea just went Stellar

Agreed, he looked like he was going to 'push on' but then the injury etc.

Stein was an incredibly goalscorer but he was what? 27/28 when he joined chelsea. Coming to the end of his prime years so he was never going to command a huge fee. I'd say about £10m would be a fantastic fee nowadays for a player of his age in the championship with no proven premier league quality. Find me an equivalent transfer from the championship, I'd guess the max fee would be about £5-7m.
