If he's fit we've got to play him-it's as simple as that. Huth and Shawcross are a brilliant partnership though, one of the best centre back partnerships in the league. As good as Woody is I don't think it is fair to break up that partnership. Moving Huth to right back isn't the answer either, he played well last night but he's proved time and time again he is a bit naff there. He was also our best player last season, whilst playing at centre back. Why move him? Keep the back for of last season unless we sign better full backs obviously and use Woody in Europe and in the Cup games. He's excellent cover for Huth and Shawcross and he is limited to the amount of games he can play because he can easily get injured. Does anyone know how much he gets per game? I read somewhere he's on 20k a week and 40k if he plays.

The manager's dilema! Woody looks ace. The Huth-Shawcross partnership is really decent. Huth is better than Wilko man for man, but Wilko is better than Huth at RB. Maybe the wingback thing is the way forward, although that does bring our wingers inside more a bit perhaps.

Pulis must love this Thou shall not pass. What a superb set of defenders we have at the club. Fill in those gaps up top and in the middle and we are going to have another good season

It was possibly one of the best ever debuts I've ever seen.
Interesting point about maybe Huth at RB for away games... I could cope with that if it meant TP was happier pushing forward a bit more from midfield.

Bumping for great justice because he was insanely jizzworthy today. Shawcross was fucking mint too. Huth did alright actually. Wilse is too good at fullback to have a better position, if he's better in CM than LB then we've got a friggin' ace CM waiting to emerge, which is why we need a LB.

I forgot how quick Woodgate is, he's lightening at times.

Absolutely. Has a season like that he'll be player of the season. Read the game like a book, slowed the Chelsea attacks reet down by intercepting the ball and passing it on or putting it into row z. Surprisingly pacey too. Top notch Woody, welcome to Stoke.

Top, top performance from a top, top player as TP would put it. Barely put a foot wrong and looked confident. Fantastic role model for Ryan n Rob to learn from. We have probably the best defence in the league now!

First time I've seen him (I was working for the Split away game). Very very impressed with him. Looked shaky a few times but recovered well and more than acceptable for someone playing their first full premier league game in something like 21 months.

Just dead comfortable with the ball too. As you saw Lew, he knows when to twat it, but if he gets a couple of decent CMs in front of him to pass too, hopefully Ryan will learn from that and that Cuntello won't have any excuses!

Delap could play at right wing back for sure.

Delap could play at right wing back for sure. Since when do we play wing-backs? He'd be a conventional right back, ala Whitehead against Man City in the FA Cup replay about two years back
