Cundle and Stansfield for me. Stansfield? Another journeyman whose been around the world .. Used to know a fella who had known Lisa Stansfield for years and he said she suffered with horrendous outbreaks of mouth ulcers. Probably too much jizz gargling.

Stoke said to be interested in Aussie Tom waddingham ( shame it's not Tony and waddington!) , which would be an out and out punt . Has English and Aussie joint citizenship and only 19 but still handful.

The signs are that we have not learned from our mistakes in previous windows. We appear to have played the long game in going for Cannon and Stansfield (who I really rate) whilst allowing others to join clubs without us showing any serious interest.
This could easily bite us on the arse as it has in previous windows.
There is one player who might be worth a look as he's going to be available. Young, strong, and relatively quick for a biggish player. He's looked a handful when I've seen him and if a little raw will only get better. At £1.5 million we should be looking at Josh Coburg at Middlesbro.
Also, why have we not put a bid in for Poku from Peterborough?
Starting to worry a bit about our lack of options.

It is all a bit concerning. Either the transfer team are very clever in keeping deals under the radar and we have a decent striker and centre half in the bag already or they’ve completely failed to get anyone of note and we go into the season looking very toothless upfront and short of cover at the back.
Well there’s a week or so to go before we know the answer…

Josh coburn is a really good shout.
6 foot 3 , powerful good in the air and on the deck , a handful and a major distraction to defenders even when he doesn't score. Nicknamed ' the teeside haaland ' when coming through the youth set up and scoring for fun .
Hit ten goals in 35 games for Bristol rovers 2 seasons ago and 10 in 40 games for Middlesbrough last season.
10 in 40 appearances for Boro , is decent when you allow for the fact he is often a late sub for boro . Last Saturday, Boro 1 derby 0 he came on for the last minute and played one minute and that counts as an appearance.
10 in 40 appearances is very decent for a young man ( he is 20 maybe 21 ? ) often coming on as a late sub .
Rumoured to be on his way to Millwall for 1.5 million ISH . Millwall initial bid turned down.
Why is an older increasingly injured Sam Gallagher worth more ? Very good question? No idea .
Come on Stoke ! Make it happen!

We’ve signed some child from Spurs?? Supposed to be a very good centre back by all accounts and it’s certainly an area we needed someone else. An extra right back and someone up top should see us done for this window.

Our Jamaican international Daniel Johnson has left Stoke City. Released from his contract to become a free agent. Possibly a good signing for someone but I doubt many Stoke fans will lose any sleep over his departure. Good luck DJ.

Lewis Baker might also be leaving tomorrow. Linked with a loan move to Blackburn. Makes room for another signing for us.

Josh Laurent could be moving on. Although he has been linked with a move away in every transfer window since he signed for Stoke

Lewis Baker might also be leaving tomorrow. Linked with a loan move to Blackburn. Makes room for another signing for us. Just been anounced on twitter. Loaned to Blackburm for the season until his contract runs out at Stoke. I will miss his free kicks and goals from long range. At least he won't be alwowed to play against Stoke this season with it being a loan deal and hopefully we get a loan fee from blackburn www.stokecityfc.com/news/2024/august/29/baker-bound-for-blackburn-on-loan/

Its mad the number of players we've signed over the last few years who seem to do little and move on. Is there no filter or something?

Transfer deadline day is that dull that I have turned off Sky Sports News and am watching the test match cricket where England are doing well against Sri Lanka as it's slightly less dull.
Anyhow.....

Josh Laurent is still linked with a move to Burnley and linked with coming to Stoke are Japanese midfielder Tatsuki Seko. Lee Cundle could be back on loan and forward Tom Cannon is a possible target.
All of the above will happen or none of the above will happen. Alternatively only some of the above might happen. Maybe something that isn't above will happen instead. I know nothing.
Hope this helps!

its been a pretty good transfer window. It's good that the loan players have all had previous loans. Too many times in the past we have taken raw players on loan who have been poor for us before going out on loan the season after and being great for someone else.
