I went in to watch it convinced it was going to be the greatest cinematic experience since the first Indiana Jones films came out. It just failed so early to satisfy. Almost like Michael Bay took over after 40 minutes all beaked up going nuts with explosions.

I'm reading Glenn Greenwalds 'No Place to Hide', the story of the Edward Snowden whistleblowing. It's a fantastic read and I'm sure they will make a film of it. Looking forward to that one. Starkiller would love it ;D

It's not a book thread, knobhead.
Watched Angels' Share, Kings of Summer and Good Vibrations the other night. All three were great, been meaning to to watch them for a while. Kings of Summer in particular impressed me, highly recommend it.

Everybody seems to be cheesing their pants over this new X-Men movie. I'm really not into superhero stuff and have never watched any X-Men film. Should I?

I think it's one that you need to have seen at least a few of the others, or have an understanding of the timeline. Looks better than the last one, but then again I liked Godzilla.

I watched "Big Titted Milfs 3" last night. I was initially worried that not having seen the first 2 that i wouldn't be able to catch up with the complex storyline but alas it wasn't so. A powerful watch all round with a few few cheeky twists which I shan't divulge. Also gave "Where the Buffalo Roam" a re-watch. Have to say I think it shits all over "Fear and Loathing".. and I do rate that film highly.

BTM3 is a fine way to end the trilogy.

I'm glad they didn't split it into two parts like Harry Potter.

Godzilla was decent, I'd give it about 7.5/10. Watched it in 3D at the iMax in Manchester and christ, what a waste of money. The 3D was wank (as it always is), which made the difference in picture quality unnoticeable, and if you didn't sit up straight things would go out of focus; and it only cost £14.80 a fucking ticket.

Finally watched American History X this evening.
Great film, found it difficult to watch in the moments when the guy put his teeth around the curb.

Me and the lads have been watching shit Roman films on hangover days recently. Seen that new Hercules one, Pompeii and The Eagle.
-Hercules was atrocious.
-Pompeii seemed great in comparison but is pretty poor. Chock full of Rome-film cliches and stays far too close the Gladiator storyline to not have to be compared to it. Obvs Gladiator shits on it in every possible way.
-The Eagle annoyed me the most out of the 3. The casting was terrible, having the most contemporary American-looking bloke as the main Roman, Channing Tatum, was such a shit decision. Gave the whole film too much of an American stamp; it wouldn't have been any worse if he'd have been wearing a 2014 US marine uniform or a cowboy costume. Oh, and the native Scots portrayed were clearly a South American/native American tribe, sporting Mohicans, tomahawks and taking hallucinogenic drugs. The director should have just made a cowboy film.

This weekend, I went to watch my favourite ever film, Withnail & I at The Electric in brum, fucking awesome, I didn't do any homework about the cinema so had no idea but what a place. Properly old school retro venue with beer serving waiter service to your seat, highly recommend! The Electric - www.theelectric.co.uk/How I ended up there - mattbowsher.wordpress.com/tag/withnail-i/

The Raid 2 is now erm, 'avaliable' online.
Oh, and it's possibly the best action movie of all time.
No jokes, it's 10/10.
