Tried it on Yarmo and it made absolutely no difference.
Just finished setting up and starting my regen scouting network. It only involves scouting the youth intakes of 71 clubs across the globe and requesting (and sifting through) between 600-700 reports. Luckily they're quite well spaced out*. Already found a few players with top potential just from the first few regen dates.
*Not including France and Germany, that cunt took 3 hours to request all of the reports.

Like I said, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. However, I like to think that if they do score then my players will attempt to boot him around the park as punishment and maybe injure him

I could have 7 players man marking Yarmo. He'll still score. Whatever I try he still scores at least 2 past me.
On FM 2010 I started a game with Newcastle Town. Lou Macari's son was playing for them. ;D The database I downloaded was insane. It had teams like Wolstanton in it.

Enjoying playing as Newcastle Town. Weird watching some downright shit football though. Got some new tactics which are working excellent

Is it kick the ball long and have fast strikers? Because that works for most people.

Won the league with 3 games to go with a aplomb in a dire 0-0 draw at home to West Brom, then went Anfield and got another draw and drawn at home to Spurs. Players are pretty much on holiday. Everton in the FA cup final next so I'll have to motivate them for that.

Anthony Malbon is a monster. 25 goals and it's only 2nd November

Finished 10 points clear in the league, won the FA cup on penalties against Everton (Bego with the winner). Now it's time to decide on my targets for who I want in the summer, and to play some shitty Euro Qualifiers.
My list consists of: Cardozo (free), Lucas Moura (~£25m), Yarmolenko (£15-20m), M'Vila (~£25m) and Papadopoulos (~£20m).
I'll probably only be able to afford 2, plus Cardozo. Hopefully the board will give me £20m to spend (although they just announced a stadium expansion costing £10m) and I can raise another £20/30m in player sales.

What makes it more depressing is that I was just offered the Man Utd job with a budget of £100m

I take it Yarmolenko is an absolute must? ;D

I'm tempted to spunk my entire budget on him and Hernandez just to stop the cunts scoring against me. ;D

Where's Salomon Rondon? That bloke was a machine for me when I was at Spurs

He's another option, he's at Fulham at the moment. On my Bristol save he fucking destroyed me every time for Liverpool. The thing about Yarmolenko is that if I get him and Cardozo then I'll be over run with strikers (I already have Babacar, Fierro and Niang). So he's not exactly top priority... But I do want to stop the cunt scoring against me.

How did those three fare last season?

Fierro and Babacar got injured every time they were hitting form and Niang has two good games, two awful games fairly consistently. They all play as poachers but spent most of the time laying the ball off to Gylfi or Aubert.
Fierro - 15 goals, 7 assists Babacar - 15 goals, 2 assists Niang - 14 goals, 9 assists
A striker is definitely on the cards which is why I was going to go for Cardozo on a free (I've really missed Drogba this season. Suppose I can sign Cardozo as a back up player. For the most part my incomings will be based upon who I sell. I also need to get a back up goalkeeper and a young keeper from somewhere as I'm losing 3 this summer. Lucas Moura is pretty high on the list as well because Valbuena is leaving (and hopefully Konoplyanka and Willian as well).

If laying the ball off to Gylfi and Aubert is one of their main jobs other than scoring, I'd attempt to swap Rondon and Babacar around. If a striker doesn't score, you'd still want him to create something (that's what I like to see in my strikers anyways..) and from those stats, if Babacar doesn't score he's not doing his secondary job
In the very first savegame I had on FM12 (the one where I just get a feel for the game and start as Stoke but not do it serious) I had Babacar and found him to be pretty infuriating. Powerful, potentially good but infuriating
Choice is yours though, I'll try and find out what Rondon's stats were because I've still got the Spurs save. Just gonna save my 'Castle Town game and then I'll load it up

Yeah Rondon is a monster, although he always scored by hitting me on the break. Babacar has been a lot more consistent for me than Niang (most of his goals come in single games) and Fierro has had a difficult season but I know he can do well from his previous season.

First season I was at Spurs (2016/17): 51 (6) appearances, 56 goals, 14 assists Second season where he missed about half the season due to injury after injury and Jokin Jimenez being in ridiculous form (2017/18): 17 (7) appearances, 14 goals, 7 assists
Sold him for £17.5mill to Man City afterwards

Had a £15m bid for Yarmolenko rejected and a £7.5m bid for Papadopoulos turned down.
