Yea, he used that as an argument as proof and sent me a huge message attached. Out of all the clubs in the world I can't see why he'd make it up about Stoke, hardly like we have a world famous academy that would let a team like Barnsley get ahead in FM.

Newcastle and Orlando are set as more permanent features as affiliations, it is set that the Barnsley one will likely disappear over time basically in a full game the Orlando and Newcastle Town ones should stay no matter what more or less unless new boards come in with the mindset of breaking all affiliations.

The Barnsley one should disappear on its own if its not used.

I've just looked in the club editor and our kit on that has plenty of stripes, however, spoke to the head researcher and in the game it just becomes one thick stripe down the middle so its an interface error, hopefully I can get my hands on the files and fix the kit tomorrow.

You can easily get Woodgate off of his (effectively) 45k a week contract. His basic wage is £5k per week with a £40k per appearance. Offer him a new contract and he just asked me for £9k a week with a £1k appearance fee.

I'll probably bring it up as a bit of a flaw in the game so it might not be there come release but it made me lol.

Had one game last night, layout is fucking horrible. A nice custom skin will fix that. I did notice was that Kemp can't pick a team to save his life.

He does want out at Man City I was shocked myself when I looked at interested players and saw Tevez at the top. The layout has taken me a bit by surprise Ididn't expect this many drastic changes.

So far I've played 9, got 12 points and sit 9th in the table. Jones has 6 goals, Fuller has 4, Crouch has 4. Etherington and Pennant are extremely fragile for me though, picking up injuries all over the place.

The game randomly seems to ignore my tactical changes, and will move players around.

Completely hate the new tactics screen, does my head in.

I don't think they needed to bring in so many changes to the layout at once, it's just a bit of an overload.

Just lost to Liverpool against a Fifa style Suarez, he was stupidly unplayable, not to mention they were down to 10 men for the last 30 minutes and I had 2 chances in that time. That's nice a realistic considering before that I was fucking battering them.

It was Carrol who was too much for me, big bastard raped Upson all day long. It does take a fair bit of getting used to, but I'm liking it now, I'm glad I get the full game in a few days time because I've almost finished the demo.

17 games played, sat in 8th. Stoke can score from throw-ins now and you can set up the set pieces for them to get Shawcross, Huth, Jones and Crouch all attacking the ball. KJ has scored 13 goals and has 6 assists from 21 starts and 2 sub appearances. Crouch has 8 goals and 3 assists from 14 starts and 7 sub appearances. Last year I found it really hard to get anything from KJ so I'm happy that he is doing it this year.

Yeah target men/DLF's seem to be playing far better this year which is great. Getting a consistent DLF was my achilles in 11, i'd get someone who'd play ok for 10 or so games then he's be forever shit afterwards.

I'm not sure what your tactical set-up is, but after a few games I quickly found it was a mistake to play Stoke with a deep defensive line, too many players were just taking the piss and shooting from anywhere, the ball would come back off the bar/post or a save and pacey players would already be lurking in dangerous positions getting easy tap-ins.

Playing more pushed up with the Stoke defenders they're quite well disciplined and hold the line well, so it may stop players like Suarez to an extent.

I also like to check see if players have a bravery of less than 10, if so I set tackling on them to hard. This is risky when Fuller is in the team though, the few times I did it with Fuller on the pitch he had a booking within 5 minutes.

The good thing is as I had hoped, if come January you're doing quite well Coates will make more money available. Just got to January 1st and a news article popped up with £5.75m for midtable and £675k a week.

Does Football Manager not have much licensing?

Just wondering why the kits on those screenshots aren't real.

EA own the licenses for the Premier Leauge and several other leagues, such as the German national team as well. Konami (Pro Evo) owns the rights on the J league which is why you never see it in FIFA or FM (properly) as well.

EA won't sublicence to FM because there is Fifa Manager out as well, so they just hold onto the rights and SI/Sega can't afford to go bidding against EA for them as EA pay a fuckton to get them for FIFA each year. They could do it the PES way and get one or two licences but it seems a bit pointless.

Within a few days of release there is graphics packs you can download that have much better quality graphics anyway.
