Who's getting it?
It's a defo purchase for me, just deciding which format to buy it on so i'll wait and see what the internet says.
Thought last years game was fantastic and think there's enough new content/improvements to warrant a purchase.

I pre ordered it at the start of the month, been posted on wednesday but not fucking posted so going to get it from tesco after work and take the spare back.
The reviews have been largely glowing, saying its an evolutionary step, rather than a revolution from last years, but that's testament to how good 2010 was. I didn't buy / play last years so it's all fresh to me, can't wait. I read of all the bugs and stuff from last year and they seemed to have put all of the teething problems to bed and made another fantastic game.

Was going to wait to see if it'd been delivered tomorrow but that would mean fucking off up to work, bollocks to that on the best day of the week*. I'm really pleased with it mate, I tried it on expert, then hard, now medium. It's fucking relentless, it's unforgiving and the car feels weighty, but with the agility and movement you'd expect from something that weighs less than the dump I had earlier. I'm still doing practice laps on the Melbourne circuit and I've found my depth on medium difficulty. Even now I set a trailblazing lap time, then I'll slowly fall down the tap time table . Had a mess around with a Force India (I've started my career in a Lotus) and was having a proper dogfight with Kobayashi, was leaving him behind on the corners couldn't shake him off on the straights. It really pushes you to your limits and I love it all the more for it. The graphics aren't quite as good I was hoping, but I was expecting quite a bit. After seeing the trailers it seems really smoothed out but they were obviously all on a high end PC. It still looks good though and the two cockpit views give a brilliant sense of speed. Saying this I've only played when it's been overcast, it's supposed to really flex its muscles during wet races. Really difficult to get to grips with, but feel a long night coming on and I've been up for about 30 hours with a shit hours kip on the plane. Touching on that the holiday was spot on mate, just what the doctor ordered.

With regards to the graphics, theres quite a few people been bitching about it, some with good reason. But a bloke on the Codemasters forums posted this:
I've worked out what is wrong with the graphics: Codemasters have the settings all wrong for the PS3 version. I've adjusted my TV and there is a marked improvement. I've got a mode on my TV called 'movie' which has made it look ten times better. For anyone who has the PS3 version, I have a Samsung LE40C, and my settings are as follows;
Backlight: 12 Contrast: 95 Brightness: 45 Sharpness: 20 Colour: 50 Tint (G/R): G50/R50
Black Tone: Off Dynamic Contrast: Off Shadow Detail: 0 Gamma: 0 Colour Space: Auto White Balance: All at 25 Flesh Tone: 0 Edge Enhancement: Off
With the edge enhancement, black tone and dynamic contrast on anything but 'off' it looks rough, it's the same if you up the sharpness. Softening the edges makes such a difference, I can't tell you. When I first got the game, the graphics looked terrible! After I spent a bit of time mucking about with my TV settings, it now looks excellent. It's a massive improvement. I almost joined this forum yesterday to complain about the graphics. Not now, I couldn't be happier.
I've not experienced any frame drops, of significant tearing. Compared to 2010 the performance is rock solid. Obviously it doesn't compare to GT5 but that was made to the strengths of the PS3, so you'll never get a multi-plat game that is at that standard.
I've got pretty much the same tv unit as the guy so I fiddled about a bit and the game looks much better (but with room for Codemasters to patch it if it does indeed look better on the 360) but I've tried a few different games with these settings and they all look vastly improved, look more realistic.

Having somehow managed to get a copy of the pc version I've discovered it's fucking mint. Will definitely be purchasing a legitimate copy when I can afford it. Also seems there's a patch in the works already for the PS3 version. I only stopped playing it because I blew up my Force India downshifting rather aggressively after the back straight at Shanghai ;D Managed to set her on fire too ;D

Graphics wise its EXACTLY the same as the previous game. Literally the only thing that is different is the updated cars/tracks/drivers. Not worth the money in my opinion.

I agree the casual fan doesn't have much incentive to get it but someone like me who spent lots of time on the previous version will see the differences.

In two minds whether or not to buy this. Money's tight as it is and I've got to budget for the '72 Stoke top, Uncharted 3 and PES 12

You're basing your opinions on FIFA on the demo, which is a silly thing to do.

You can't appreciate a match and get used to the game properly in such a short match.

The only demo I have ever played that made me want to get the full game was the UFC 2009 demo, I fucking caned that one summer.

You can't appreciate a match and get used to the game properly in such a short match. That's EAs fault that they couldn't sell the game to me then Going a little further than that, after the experience I've had of it, I wish the games were about thirty seconds long. Save me from the long, excruciating pain of the sheer tedium that is playing FIFA 12 Anyways, you've smashed this right off topic Is F1 2011 worth the money?
