Quite a big DLC pack coming where you can ride dragons and shit. I'm going to fuck about doing nothing but play this and dunk biscuits in tea on Saturday. Proper winter game.

Do you like any game? ;D I can understand you not liking Skyrim as it's in a genre you don't like, but all you do is say how shit every game is. A bit like Maurice Edu ;D I like loads of games.. ;D Just a lot of the recent ones have been shite... Your right as in Its not a genre i like but you must agree the graphics are atrocious..? Red Dead Redemption and Assassins Creed are just 2 of many examples of the way to do it... I did expect to knock the game yes tbh, but only because it would be too talky and slow for eg (as RPG games are), not because it was shit to look at and move about in too... And as for Maurice Edu, I wish him only well... Can I just say that RDR and AC are completely different types of games. They're open world action games not RPG's, you have to follow the story no matter how you chose to play the game. Where as with Skyrim you can do whatever you like in whatever order you like and (apart from level based quests) everything is open to you from the start. If you want a game to compare it to then Fallout would be the best choice.

Yeah, your right of course mate, totally different games but i was commenting more on how to do it graphics wise really than gameplay/genre wise.. As for Fallout, hated that too.... ;D

Oh fair enough, I thought you were on about style of play. I agree on AC, it's one of the best crowded games with good graphics (alongside GTA). Wasn't a massive fan of RDR graphics, they were ok but nothing special.
The problem with Skyrim/Oblivion/Fallout graphics, mainly on consoles, is Gamebryo (well Skyrim is run off Creation Engine which is a slightly edited version of the Gamebryo) the engine the games are run off. It's a fucking awful engine, it has poor texture loading and when combined with the havok physics engine has trouble with textures and colliding objects. All these problems are maximised on consoles because it's cut down to make it run as smooth as possible meaning you fall through loads of things (like rocks, and the floor).
So it's not actually the graphics that are a problem, Sheldon is also speaking from a PC perspective where a lot of these issues don't happen as much. If they just used a decent engine for the game then it'd be amazing, because the graphics in the game are actually stunning. Although there are mods to make it better which will actually set your PC on fire they're that good (and taxing on the PC).
I'm not a big Fallout fan either. 3 was decent, had a good story but too many bugs. New Vegas was terrible.

Yeah in fairness I've never seen skyrim on a console first hand, I still think it's fucking mint though. I'd be pissed off if I was playing on ps3 though, lack of dlc on an already singled out platform.

Sony do have a history of breaking away from the mainstream platform, whilst they got it right with blu-ray players companies will look at some of the costs of developing things on PS3 and just say fuck it.
Bethesda aren't going to hurl money at something they know won't make a profit.

Just incase this slipped under the radar for anyone..
Skyrim on PS3 had a update recently, no idea when, only noticed yesterday when I fired it up for old times sake
Also, the three DLC's that came out for everyone else have finally been released for PS3. Dragonborn came out on the 12th, Hearthfire came out this week and Dawnguard is out on Tuesday
If there was ever a reason to restart the game, this is definitely it because I fucking love Skyrim

I did a restart in anticipation of the DLC and got through the early phases to about level 40 or so, on PC though I've heavily modded the shit out of my game so level 40 isn't all that much on my game now. However, they've added a nice quest in at level 80, an ebony warrior seeks you out to challenge you to a fight.
Hardest fight I've ever had on skyrim, but its on the side of a mountain and the cunt disarmed me. Having to run down a mountain looking for your weapon is not good, cunt killed me so I had to restart the fight lol.

That fight sounds fantastic! Fuck I miss playing Skyrim. I need to re-buy it. When I sold it due to my then incredible lack of funds I was more broken-hearted than when my pet cat Elvis died.

All I've seen so far is that it lets you build a house and adopt kids. I adopted kids and sent them to my house in whiterun, but the hearthfire dlc has a bug which then stops you getting into your house in whiterun. So those kids are long dead.
Just looking over the wiki for skyrim to see if I've missed anything, hearthfire just seems to be Bethesda cashing in on a combination of a couple of mods that had been made. I know there was already one for house building and then its borrowed a lot of ideas from the dovahkiin hideout mod.

Skyrim is a very good game but not as good as Red Dead Redemption, which is fucking brilliant. Why the fuck they decided to go for an expansion with zombies instead of nasty bow toting indians, more of the same cowpoke content, or even touch on the American Civil war, is beyond me

"An ebony warrior seeks you out for a fight" is the gayest sentence ever posted on this board! I've just bought Skyrim for my 12 yo lad so I'm slightly concerned right now! Because of the mods on my game, when I took his armour he was actually a black bloke with a massive cock.
