I'm usually an optimist but Newcastle have had a cracking start to the season - only one loss in all competitions - I'm worried. Cagey draw I reckon. There record will come to an end on Monday night... They've not beaten us, home or away since promotion, (that record WON'T come to an end Monday night )

Playing Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium is like being body-searched at the toughest airport security in the world. It is an experience that requires patience, perseverance and a great deal of purpose. On Monday night Newcastle United must withstand such a comprehensive and personal examination if Alan Pardew’s men are to continue their fabulous unbeaten start to their Premier League season. Steven Taylor, if fit, will be vital for Alan Pardew because of the aerial threat from the home side, but Tony Pulis will want his side to bounce back from two successive losses. Stoke are undefeated at home in the League and fear no one, especially after the terrific 1-1 draw with Manchester United a month ago. The Magpies were frisked twice last year by the Potters and were smashed 4-0 on their last visit to the Midlands, but victories at Wolves and fierce rivals Sunderland have certainly boosted Toon confidence this campaign. Newcastle must not carry any extra baggage from last season’s thumping – otherwise the alarm bells will soon be ringing. Stoke City boss Tony Pulis wonders who is pulling the strings at Newcastle United. While the signing of Yohan Cabaye has proved a brilliant move, Pulis doubts his counterpart Alan Pardew had anything to do with the £5m bargain-buy from Lille. Welshman Pulis, who takes Stoke to Newcastle tomorrow night, said: “I’m not sure it was Alan who picked Cabaye. I think there’s someone else up there who picks out the players. Whoever it was, though, Cabaye does look a very good player. “I certainly would never let someone else choose my players for me. It is one of the things I always insist upon in this job.” www.tribalfootball.com/articles/stoke-boss-pulis-doubts-pardew-made-newcastle-decision-cabaye-deal-2017571

We'll win, there will be no complacency, and stoke city football charity will not deem them worthy of points. Bolton away is a different matter

Honestly don't know whether I'll make it tonight, I feel like absolute shite. Coughing up phlegm left, right and centre with a banging headache on top. I need to get some drugs on the go. Anyhow, I'll go for a 2-0 to Stoke. Big Crouchers and Etherington with the goals. We really could do with winning this one as going to Bolton needing a win would be the last thing we need, given our away form. Big game tonight and I just hope we're better than we were against Liverpool. Sorro Wilko Shawcross Upson/Woodgate Wilson Pennant Whelan Delap Etherington Crouch Walters That will be the team tonight. Anybody expecting Palacios at CM or Huth at CB ( ) will be disappointed. I do think we might see Sorensen in goal though if Pulis has 'reviewed' the Arsenal goals.

We'll have a decent 15 minute spell, Walters with the first goal about 30 minutes in, then we'll concede. Second half Huth will get the winner at 72 minutes before sphincter twitching periods at the end.
Like the weather forecast.
