Decent team but over achieved so far. 2-1 (Ba obv) or 2-0.
"It'll be hard for us to get anything from the biggest challenge in world football. That being going away to Stoke on a cold Monday evening. " Nice.

There's no way Palacios will start is there? I'd love it personally as Glenn was very inconsistent again last night.

Was Palacios on the bench last night? Is it injury or just a general lack of fitness holding him back? that's

I'll be happy as long as Huth starts. It's a long way to Tel Aviv, so we might see him and Woodgate play in the middle of defence, resting Shawcross and Upson for the EL?
We've definitely missed Huth's attacking ability on corners, free kicks and throws when he hasn't played this season. Ryan's alright, Upson's alright, but Rob goes steaming into the box and attacks the ball like a gorilla driving a train.

Palacios was on the bench and I just want ryan and Huth back in the centre backs, with wilko and Higgy at full backs for the PL and a back four of
Shotton, Woodgate, Upson, Wilson for the EL and FA Cup

think we'll grind out a 2-1 win, just need a better showing from the midfield and our wingers to start firing.

I just want Palacios to start, it's getting ridiculous, we signed him nearly 2 months ago and he's got more ability than whelan, deano and rory put together , bollocks that he's not fit Pulis is scared to drop his darling Delap, anyway my team Bego Wilko Huth Ryan Wilson Pennant Palacios Whelan Ethers Crouch Walters 2-1 Stoke

I agree that Palacios should be in the team. Delap, Wheelan and Whitehead are all good on their day but they all do the same job. They break down the opponents play but lack any real creativity. Pushing the ball to our wingers is ok but if theyre not on form or theyre struggling to beat the full backs we have no alternatives. Palacios would give us the option to not only attack the flanks but he would play some quality passes through the middle giving opposing defences something extra to deal with. Im hoping TP goes and gets us a decent full back ( or Higgy makes a swift return ) so we can utilise Wilsons passing ability in the middle too at some point. As for the game, well, we need to be a lot better than the Carling cup display thats for sure. Lets hope that performance was a one off and we get back to what we do best and If we can manage that I think a 2-0 win isnt out of the question. We now have a run of games where we should have the ability to pick up points at home and away, lets hope TP sorts this away day drivel out and takes full advantage

I'm usually an optimist but Newcastle have had a cracking start to the season - only one loss in all competitions - I'm worried. Cagey draw I reckon.
