Thoughts?
Will be a bloody tough game but coming off the back of a draw against Man Utd its one the players and fans will believe we can get something from.
Come on Stoke!

Sorenson, Shotton, Huth, Upson, Palacios, Whitehead, Jerome, Arismendi, should be a few fresh faces coming in to give yesterdays guys a rest?

I'd go for it. Our home form in the group stage is absolutely key
Sorenson; Shotton, Huth, Upson, Wilkinson; Pennant, Palacios, Whitehead, Etherington; Crouch, Walters
Pulis to take his pick from Pennant, Etherington, Crouch and Walters to sub off to give them a bit of a rest. Wilko at LB to give Wilson a rest

I'd like to see us fill the bench for once in Europe.
Is Pugh in the European squad?
Want to see more of Arismendi and Flo, but obviously not in the starting XI. Definitely on the bench though. Shotton simply has to start, don't know who for though. Huth didn't start against Man Utd, so he should play as well alongside either Upson or Shawcross obviously (Woody isn't in the Euro squad is he?) Jerome and Palacios should both play, Jerome as a reward for a goal and good performance against Kiev, Palacios because he didn't play much at the weekend and he was very good against Kiev as well. Only question mark is whether both Etherington and Pennant play.
Match is on ITV 4 after the Fulham game by the way.

They have some good players, but definitely winnable. If we win all three home games we're basically through aren't we? Unless tel aviv lose every game but us.
We win all 3 homes and lose 2 away. 10 points
I think that would be enough, dynamo and besiktas should beat each other at home, and if tel aviv get some home points it could he the draw at dynamo that sends us through.
Anybody be arsed to work out any situations we wouldn't go through if we win all three home games?

We won't win every home game, but we won't lose any.
Strong possibility of draws against both Besiktas and Kiev at home because they're simply better teams than us. We've got the 2nd hardest game of the group over with (Kiev away) and if we can draw away at Besiktas we are in a really strong position to go through.

I think we can, especially dynamo at home. They will struggle to cope with us.
Also besiktas polishing of tel aviv doesn't tell us much, they are not a great side and a few of their young stars weren't allowed to travel due to being in the Israeli army on national service(in name only they do fuck all because they can play football)

So when Tel Aviv play us at the Brit they'll only have half their first team?

No it is because of turkey being Muslim I think. Don't think Jewish soldiers allowed there and vice versa.
I have a maccabi fan on Facebook, I'll try get him on here to explain it better.

Cunting fucking work After missing FC Thun, Liverpool and Spurs due to 'cunting fucking work' this one fits in with my shift pattern and looking forward to it. Should be a large away following, so hopefully a good atmosphere.

Turkey's secular isn't it? There's some tension because the Israeli navy was blocking Turkish aid to Gaza I think.

In name I suppose it is, but I think it has an extremely large Muslim population. There were threats on the team and fans going to turkey after the Israeli army killed some Turkish people, maybe that was the reason. I don't really understand it myself.
We should have no real problems over there, besiktas is apparently a secular club and so is the half of Istanbul which we'll be in. That's as long as no stoke fans try to be billy big bollocks.
