Im not blaming the loss on Salif. He just want the right person to bring on. He looked as fast as an artritic 70 year old and lost the ball what seemed like whenever he had it. Isnt this what we bought palacios for? He cant be that bad or unfit that we had to play Diao, surely?
As i said we played alright at times, tactics disnt work though.

Been at work and there was no commentary on 5live just chat so all i know are the bare facts. We'll get over it and go in strong for the next two home games. Away is becoming a serious issue , diehard's are doing the unthinkable and starting to actually seriously consider missing a game or two I haven't watched us away on a regular basis for years so it's not me who is shelling out a fortune to to see us not do much. In other news. We will win at bolton

Exactly you are talking easily up to £100 for an away day to see us go through the same run of the mill shit. TP really has to review his away plans as they are not working. I am not saying we have to go and beat everyone just at least give the home team a fucking game.

HE FORGOT they had a world class striker on the bench so why the fuck did he think he could hold them at 1 - 1 for over 30 minutes. Salif was the wrong option totally and no matter what you say about him not putting a foot wrong will convince me otherwise. He put on another two strikers granted but if we have no midfield to support those strikers the the intended impact was futile.

The formula hasn't really changed with the odd exception. Like baboon says, it doesn't work.

That we looked the more likely team to win until RVP came on is completely irrelevant apparently. As is the fact that bringing Salif on was an excellent move to counter their threat (since Rory was doing nothing) and it worked brilliantly.

His option was to defend a 1 - 1 which granted I could of perhaps understood with 10 or so minutes left but to do it at Arsenal with 30 odd minutes left was baffling. However it is all about opinions and Pulis has a team halfway up the premiership and I don't so in theory he could tell me to go fuck myself as what do I know

However it is all about opinions and Pulis has a team halfway up the premiership and I don't so in theory he could tell me to go fuck myself as what do I know I don't think that was his option, he brought Diao on because Arteta and Ramsey were walking down the middle of our park for fun, this needed to be sorted ASAP. When Diao came on they didn't have any success down the middle and used their wings, which normally suits us down to the ground because we can defend a ball into the box better than anybody. Sadly they caught us out just as we were about to turn the screw with Jerome and Jones getting ready to come on and it was pretty much game over as soon as they got their confidence back. I don't blame TP, he was trying to win the game. I don't blame Salif, he did fine. I don't blame TP for bringing on Salif with 60 minutes to go, it had to happen because that looked like the only way they'd score. Losing to Arsenal at the Emirates is just one of those things.

Which means more Stoke possession. That makes it a positive change. There are countless clichés that could be used I'm sure. Things like "Sometimes you have to go back to go forwards". Against a team like Arsenal who play possession football the first thing you need to do is to stop them playing their game, otherwise they just keep the ball and it doesn't matter how many strikers you have if you can't get the ball off them. It's really that simple. Salif came on to keep Arsenal from playing their passing game, meaning we had more of the ball, so we could make more chances.

Still think Palacios would have been better suited. Even Shotton who seems to be able to play anywhre.. It's alright saying he came on to stop them playing, but it wouldn't be long after he had the ball, he'd be dispossessed. I'm sure it happened more than once (which is the only time I can think of... ).
