Did anyone go apart from our Carlos? Don't think they'll need police vans to take them down to Thun tonight, they looked a civilised lot there

How the fuck are the Swiss allowed to have beer at a Euro game? It's beer without alcohol in it... You can't sell alcoholic beverages at UEFA games. It's still beyond me how we could buy coffee liquor shots at Palermo....

As for the game itself: I saw it coming. Rock solid defence from Stoke and our team not having the necessary physical strength up front and lacking firepower. In the first half Thun clearly couldn't cope with the style played by Stoke. The second half was better, maybe an equalizer would have been deserved as Stoke clearly did no more than just defend. How our team tried to whip in high corner kicks against this line of defence is truly beyond me....

To be fair Lee it's possibly the best defence outside of the top two and of course our team is also set up defensively compared to most premiership teams. In your defence Chelsea failed to score against us last Sunday with Torres, Drogba, Anelka and the rest.

I did never expect us to win at the Britannia, but thought we might manage a good result (a draw, maybe a win) at home. What I wanted to say is that we lost also due to lack of quality on our side (which is normal given we are a Swiss league side taking on a EPL team). That still is no excuse for operating high balls against Stoke - I could not believe my eyes!

I went to the match in Split and it's strange that some of the Split fans were complaining that their team also used the high ball against Stoke. For both of the ties against Split Begovic had very little to do so I wonder whether it is just the case of using a different tactic to one which is not working.

What an amazingly beautiful place. The beer on draught was very dear but as we soon found out the co-op were selling cans of 5.4% lager at 75 cents a can (60p ish) we hit the jackpot.
Swimming in a lake with snow capped mountains as a backdrop with gorgeous local talent was great.
The local Thun supporter who was working by the lake 'Urs' came and had a chat when he saw our flag and tops, ten minutes later he returns with cold beers as a gift - what a lovely set of people in Thun.
99.9% of us out there were a credit to our city and our club, very well behaved in good spirits.
When sat in the main square by the river we had 4 under cover coppers who could not help but laugh their tits off for the day at our songs and actions.
As away days go - that is going to take some beating.

The last one was just like that and it seems more than likely that we've got three more to go at ;D I've spoken to three people who've previously been there Meggsy and they've all stressed how beautiful the place is - I've only driven through Switzerland on the way to Italy, the place we stopped near the border was virtually Italian. Split and Thun, what a start, hardly Europe's ugliest offerings ;D So, thank you Mr Coates and thank you Mr Pulis. Looks like the Man City fans who told me that we'd enjoy the ride were spot on Makes you feel all warm inside.

Put this one the Norwich thread. Deano and Shotts deserve a run out after today's performance. I'd go with Sorro Shotts Shawcross Upson Wilson JP Deano Arismendi Ethers Jones Walters
or 4-5-1
JP Deano Arismendi Pugh Ethers Jones
Thought Whelan was poor today, which is a shame after he's played at the back end of the season and had a decent start this year.
