But he is one of the best English attacking central midfielders around and certainly THE best in our price range. I'd have mixed feelings if we signed him but to call him "average" is well wide of the mark. |

He's repeatedly expressed desires to change from being a cunt into a role model but I get the feeling he'll never be able to do it himself. If anyone can turn him around, it's Tony Pulis, who'll nut him then fuck him off if he does anything stupid.
Ability wise, he is easily the best player within our price range, as Lakeland says. He's phenomenal on his day, and even when he's not playing to his absolute best, he's consistently very very good and far better than anyone we've already got.

Someone wrote an article about him turning his career around and wiping out all the cunt-ishness from his game and asked him RT it. He said no, because he will make mistakes, he is human, and by RTing it it would be telling people he's now a perfect angel, but he's not. He's trying though. I just think it's a perfect match. |

Not even close to the same level. I really don't see the massive fuss over him, maybe I choose to ignore the apparent 'quality' but he just seems like an average Premier League player. Has his good days and bad days like everyone else. He's better than Glen Whelan, that's the best I can say about him. |

I'm torn on him; he could be very good for us, but I have a feeling he's too 'bad' for TP to sign. Pennant we had by the bollocks when we signed; he was going nowhere, stuck in Spain with everyone thinking he was washed up. It was in his own interests to turn his situation around and apply himself. Ultimately, I think, he comes across as a proper nice guy. Barton is very Jekyll and Hyde though.

Is David Vaughan still possible? Last I heard was he was in talks with Sunderland but nothing since.
I really rate him, unfortunately I've watched plenty of Blackpool over the years (I'll always love the 99-02 teams) and Vaughan has been their best player for the last 2 years by some distance.
