It's tomorrow, weird how it hasn't been moved but I imagine we'll put out a different XI to yesterday

Is it true they're just opening up the Main stand and the Boothen for it? Bloke behind us seemed to think that was the case. Suppose it would make sense.

I imagine it will be a really low attendance.
The team we put out should give a big clue on who could be off before the end of the window.

I really can't be fucked with it. I'd rather get an extra round in at wigwam than spend £12 to watch the dross that will be Stoke v Swindon.
Feel bad for saying it but oh well....

Might as well use this as the match thread.
I'm predicting 2-0 Stoke.

Me. I don't care what anyone says, it's turned into a shit competition and needs scrapping.

Me. I don't care what anyone says, it's turned into a shit competition and needs scrapping. I wouldn't say we need to scrap it What annoys me is that the big teams don't value it so put out half of their youth team. On the positive side, it gives teams like us a chance at winning some majorish silverware but it devalues the competition on a whole. I reckon teams should only be allowed to make a maximum of five changes to their last match XI + subs, three in the starting XI, two in the subs. That way, the big teams are forced to take the competition seriously It'll never happen though, unfortunately

When a team (Man Utd?) played a completely changed team against Wolves once they got in trouble for it, people felt it was harsh because the reason a 25 man squad is named is so those players can get picked.

How do you propose we prevent teams like Man United fielding youth teams thus devaluing the League Cup then?

If they don't field youth teams (reserve teams doesn't necessarily mean youth btw) in these games, when will they field them? I know what you mean, but it is a good opportunity for these bigger clubs to do it. Bare in mind they have European football to contend with as well, can't play every competition with the same 11 men.

Bare in mind they have European football to contend with as well, can't play every competition with the same 11 men. Field them another time rather than devaluing an entire tournament If these clubs with massive resources and talent can't handle competing on all four fronts then that's their problem. It's up to them to handle it properly, no one else. Little old Stoke had to compete on all four fronts and we just about did alright without having to field youth teams in the League Cup
