stokecityfc.com: MH: We are encouraged by what we did at Liverpool last weekend. We are obviously disappointed not to have taken anything away from the game. Obviously at places like that they will create chances, but we were always in the game, and on another day we would leave there patting ourselves on the back having taken a point. 13:07
stokecityfc.com: MH: We hope to take that confidence into the game tomorrow, and try to get the three points that we are looking for. 13:08
stokecityfc.com: MH: I have said it time and time again, I'm not trying to make drastic changes, I just want us to create more chances, score more goals and have more confidence moving up the pitch. We have a group of players who are more than capable of doing that. 13:08
stokecityfc.com: MH: The intention is to make sure that the Britannia Stadium remains a place where opposition teams don't enjoy coming. This place has a reputation for that and we want to make sure that it continues.
13:09
stokecityfc.com: MH: Palace will come here desperate to get their first points on the board, just as we are. They will come here with intent, but they will be maybe more defensively assured than Blackpool were, when Ian was in charge there. As a manager he will have learned from his experiences.
13:10
stokecityfc.com: MH: It will be a tough game. They will be resolute and they have good pace, particularly in attacking areas. We will get at them though and try to influence the game in the way that we want to.
13:11
stokecityfc.com: MH: I'm sure there is interest in an umber of players, but there is nothing close at all with Cameron Jerome.
13:11
stokecityfc.com: TP: It's been well documented that we have been pursuing a number of players, but they haven't dropped for us which has been frustrating. We have a number of irons in the fire though, and we are confident of having a few of them through the door before the deadline.
12
stokecityfc.com: MH: The idea was to try and get the players in early, but it hasn't been as straight forward as that. Things take time, and unfortunately one or two haven't dropped for us as I said, but we are in the market, we are active and we are working around the clock to try and conclude the deals that we feel will improve the Football Club. 13:14
stokecityfc.com: MH: I'm really looking forward to taking charge at the Britannia Stadium in the league for the first time. I had a taste of it against Genoa, but having 26,000 supporters there tomorrow will be special. I have been to the stadium before and been on the end of some stick, but I will have them behind me tomorrow which will be nice.
13:15
stokecityfc.com: MH: It was always a challenge coming here as an opposition manager. You had to be brave coming here and take the stick and acclimatise to the atmosphere. We want to build upon the foundations that have been set here in recent years. We want to be strong and tough to beat, but we do want to get forward, entertain and score goals.
13:16
stokecityfc.com: MH: Ia nis a character, but he is a very good manager. Every manager gets caught up in emotions on the touchline - that is normal. For me, he comes cross as a very endearing person, and somebody who deserves to be in the Premier League.
13:17
stokecityfc.com: MH: We don't expect anything - we will be favourites, but we will have to earn the points that we are looking for. Truth be told, you would prefer to avoid a newly promoted team early on because they are still riding the crest of a wave. We are approaching the game in the right manner though, and we will be giving it all we have to get the three points out on the pitch.
13:18
stokecityfc.com: MH: In terms of players coming in, it could go all the way to the wire. That has happened before, and it could happen again. Some deals go through very quickly and others take time. Each deal is different and you have to be in a position to react, as we are, if the player you want becomes available.
13:19
stokecityfc.com: MH: It is a big job this season, but if we can get to where we feel we are capable of getting to, then everybody connected to the Club will be delighted.
13:21
stokecityfc.com: MH: Brek and Wilson are progressing but they won't be ready for tomorrow. Jamie Ness is the same too. Other than that we have everybody else available to us.
13:22
stokecityfc.com: MH: To have Brek back in training at this point is great. Initially we were worried that we could be without him for a couple of months. The work that the medical staff has done with him has been fantastic, and it is a credit to them that he is back up and running as quickly as he is.
13:23
stokecityfc.com: MH: Wilson Palacios hadn't missed a day's training in the build-up to the Liverpool game, so for him to have the setback he did was disappointing. He will be back with us again next week though, and that is encouraging. Hopefully he can hit the ground running again, and he will be available to us in time for next weekend.

Away tickets only £25, which is apparently £17 less than some of their Championship away games last season, so their fans are very happy.
They've only sold 1700 of their 2500 allocation though, which for the first away game after promotion, (at a reasonable price,) is a bit disappointing.

Do you think Tone told the press that Hughes smells of piss or something? It's a bit dead in there.

Got to love the old 'irons in the fire' talk. Ha ha. We should put palace to the sword tomorrow. No excuses.

He really can't have seen much of us last year if that isn't classed as a drastic change.

I hope we don't start with Crouch. When we played them in the cup last season Jedinak was absolutely brilliant and completely dominated him. I don't think Crouch won a single header.

Nah, he's going to start. Fuck knows what managers see that he brings to our team. He's just totally immobile.

I love Saturdays. Definitely our first win of the season today, and as for the score I'll be optimistic, ignoring the two games I've seen so far, and say 3-0. Gooooooooooo on Stoke ;D

0-1
Watched palace against spurs the other day and was impressed with how they dealt with spurs attacking threat. Palace will deal with our none attacking threat easily and will more than likely sneak a one at te other end.
If we don't pull our fingers out and sign some decent attackers we will go down this season. Crouch Walters etherington as a front 3 will not be enough in this league.
