I offered Tranmere £40million, I'm guessing that the board got involved before the offer went to them because the offer that they accepted was £2million.
Also, I tried to put my name as Adolf Hitler, started up the game and it was something random, could have been my fault though, didn't really look at what I was pressing when I was setting it up.
I just want to set up Adolf Hitler with Arsenal, passionately slate Jews in the press, spend all the money on shit players and rape that bastard team - what kind of shit manager game tries to stop you doing that?!

I've been enjoying it, some daft bugs in the match engine but there always will be.

Does anyone bother with FM13 anymore?

I've been playing FM13, just haven't felt like buying FM14 after all the issues I had with the demo. But my dad got it for me for Christmas so I'm giving the full game a go.
In terms of January updates. G-Cam desperately needs to be improved and made stronger at FB. Wilson needs an update he's fairly useless anywhere for me (understandable though given last season). They're the first two that spring to mind.

I'm going to be improving Cameron and Wilson is a weird one since he seems to play everywhere and depending on what positions I set him to, it affects his ratings in different ways. One thing which is a problem is that I get told the parameters the Stoke squad has to fall in, its dropped quite a bit over the last 12 months. Begovic will get another improvement, nothing major but to reflect the fact he is still improving. Before the major overhaul I had to give Crouch due to the match engine he was a 30 goal a season striker (including one season during Beta where he scored over 60 goals for Barcelona lol)

But Cameron being unconvincing at RB is just a bit weird since he's been one of the best in the league. ;D

A poor player with around 120CA but 20 consistency would play better overall than someone like Ronaldo & Messi if they only had 1 consistency. If I get my way for example Arnautovic will actually get quite a bit of a boost to his attributes, but will lose quite a bit of consistency to balance out the fact he can pull off some amazing things but not every game every week.

Geoff is brilliant for me playing as a a CB.
And I've turned Whelan into an all-action machine as a Ball Winning Midfielder with Support.
If you create a tactic that has some kind of sound logic behind it, it'll probably work. However, create a tactic that's got a small mistake (say, both CM's don't really do much defending at all) then you'll be probably murdered.

Just had a ball headed away from a corner. Huth stood on the halfway line to collect the ball. He just stands there as it slowly rolls towards him. Naismith runs half the length of the pitch (from their goalpost) and gets to the ball before Huth.
What utter bellend sat there in play testing and went "Yeah, this looks fine to me". Utter knobend.
PS. I didn't think that the ME could get worse than FM13, but they fucking managed it.

Loaned a player from Liverpool that's absolutely banging them in. Can't remember his name.

The ME is nothing short of a joke and it'll be the last time I preorder FM. Why pay £25-30 in October for an unfinished game when I can get it for half price when it's sorted in March?

The problem was around 2012 the match engine had been sussed, people knew how to expose its limitations and since FM13 its been a whole new match engine. The tactical familiarity is probably a bit overpowered at the moment, and instructions are still not entirely refined enough. The problem sam has had there above is due to how his players are instructed to mark.
If the tactic is narrow and then man marking is set (or if you have set a player to mark a specific opponent) then they tend to get drawn out of position, particularly on more fluid formation settings. At the moment most people having success are tending to play more rigid formations that are also more direct. Doesn't console me any at all when it goes wrong though lol.

I'm playing a rigid philosophy with emphasis on retaining possession and that's worked excellently (finished 3rd and got to the QF's in the League Cup and FA Cup). Defensively, mainly away from home, it's a shambles so I could do with tinkering with it slightly.
That said, fucking hell, there's been some horrific mistakes and comedy goalkeeping both for and against to the point that it simply isn't acceptable.
All I want for FM15 is just a logical ME that isn't a borderline farce, no new features left, right and centre, just a game that works and is fun to play. There's nothing that sucks the fun out of a game like FM than seeing mistakes such as your Full Back taking a stupidly heavy touch that goes 20 yards ahead of him, giving the opposition the ball and a free effort on goal.

I feel like the ME this time and the FM13 ME are completely different. They have small similarities but there are massive differences. Then again, it could be the new graphics making all the players look clunky and taking bad touches.
The one thing that I've noticed in my few times playing is the amount of blocks that defenders get on passes and shots. Oh and three of my players have a habit of crowding around the ball and just hitting it against each other.

I've noticed that as well Sam.
And I totally agree about the ME's feeling completely different. The thing that frustrates me the most is how the ME has gone downhill in aspects from the Beta. I really enjoyed the Beta, it was fun, seemed simple to play if you applied basic logic to it. It just needed some fine-tuning and it would've been fine for me. Instead, the game was fully released and it was a mess, it's only since a week ago that I've started playing again because I need my FM fix and I've exhausted FM12.

I'm not even doing badly. I've played 2 games this season. Beat Everton 4-1 at Goodison and drew 1-1 against Man City at home. It's just these stupid fuck ups piss me off because I know that it's 99% not down to my tactics, just the ME being a retard. Just like wingers cutting inside, it's the way their decision making works not what I tell them to do.
Side note: I think I've worked out why wingers cut inside. They try to go down the outside, but the defence always show them onto their weaker foot. This means that a right footed winger on the right wing always cuts inside because the defensive instruction is OP.

Same here, I've done fantastically well but I aren't sure if it's down to me creating a decent tactic or down to the ME not being logical when it comes to first touches, mistakes, decision making, defensive understanding, that kind of stuff.
