I'm just unconvinced Crouchy would suit our game. We need players up front who are quick, agile and who can run the channels and harass defenders on the ball. Crouch is an OK finisher and decent with the ball at his feet but he has no mobility at all and is pretty poor in the air when challenged, as he's a powder puff. Add in his age and no doubt massive wages and i just think we can find somebody more suited to our game and better value for money. Not being funny but who realistically can we bring in who's better I believe Sturridge and Gyan are better footballers. However they are completely different players. |

Yes I agree but I don't really think we stand a chance of getting either of em. I really really fucking hope I'm wrong.

Not being funny but who realistically can we bring in who's better But he's good at what we don't do. He likes it to feet and can finish well from 6 yards if you make it for him. Does that sound like us? On a similar realistic level i'd take Defoe everytime. I'd even prefer Rodallega as at least he can move. Crouch is just too slow and static for us. |

As Donko says above he just does not tick any of the boxes that Pulis looks for in a striker Well he's quick and mobile with a good enough engine to run the channels and harry defenders. Being a very good finisher won't put TP off he's just never been able to afford them before. He may not be 6'7" like Crouch but he's got a lot more attributes that TP looks for than Crouch has himself. He's tall and that's it. He's not very good in the air, you can blow him over, he's as slow as any player in the league, has a poor engine and won't chase around for 90 minutes. Defoe may not be stereotypical TP but once you get passed the height he's a lot closer than Crouch. |
