some of the guys I know have entered the Sandstone trail Challenge, 34 miles Whitchurch to Frodsham up and down hills, that does sound a bit OTT.
But a 10 or 12 mile run around Delamere Forest is a good start

How the fuck anyone could run 500 yards let alone five whole miles is utterly beyond me.

Can somebody help me to devise a diet and exercise regime? Join a running club, the slower you run the more birds you run with. If you see something fitter in a faster group then it will give you an incentive to get to the next level. Sometimes it's worth lagging behind the pace to check out the lycra in front. Inspired yet. You're an intelligent man Boother you start by eating marginally less, drinking marginally less and by doing small amounts of exercise with small weekly incremental increases - ditching the ciggies would obviously be a great help. Willpower is also a huge bonus

Don't listen to Jammers, walking and smoking is the best way to exercise.

Don't listen to Jammers, walking and smoking is the best way to exercise. Dharma's right about the walking, it's ace for basic fitness, I get about 4/5 miles a day in on average with the dogs As for the smoking just think how much sympathy karma you would get if you quit. You could be the new WineDelilah, queen of 1863
