Right, the end of the season is nigh and the start of the research is to begin. Any and all insight is welcome, from thoughts on stats to player relationships and contract details.

From the last few weeks, I think Deano needs to improve, he's always crap for me, always give penalties away.

Etherington and Pennant to be RM and LM instead of RW and LW

I'm totally going to sit down for an hour and research all of stokes stats and information, then get back to you.
One thing, which you'll probably do anyway, is Palacios is amazing so he'll lose a few points no doubt. Also it kind of annoys me that Pulis always leaves for Newcastle or Everton. Firstly neither team are likely to poach him, secondly he'll probably be here for a good while yet, but it annoys me most that he is the 'stoke legend' that comments on opposition danger men even when he's managing somewhere else.

Palacios will lose some from his stamina and natural fitness but there hasn't been too much else to see of him really since he arrived. He already took a hit at Tottenham. Regarding Pulis its a limit of FM I'm afraid, I have to give Pulis a certain reputation otherwise Coates would sack him and that reputation means he is attractive to other clubs at around a similar level to Stoke. The problem occured with Delap this year, because of his reputation going down a little in game he started the game transfer listed because the club didn't want to use him. Player/Staff reputation currently plays a huge part that is hard to work around. One-Two I did change that in January, seems like the head researchers changed it back. I have now fixed it again, and will ask why they changed it back in the first place I think it was because for some reason when I just changed it the players attribute weightings changed and it would have had some knock-on effects in game such as random drops and increases in stats so it was reverted. On to other things though there is a lot of changes I'm seeing that I like the look of, although its added a fuck-ton onto the research job lol.

Wilson's composure should go up a couple in my opinion. He's cool as a cucumber, and every game calmly dummies it past about 4 on rushing players. He should definitely be a LB instead of a DM anyway. Crouch's technique is a bit low at 14 as well. Technically he is excellent. Walters' teamwork, off the ball and natural fitness should be higher, and he should probably lose a couple off finishing, composure and creativity. Shotton needs to be fully RB or RM, not a CB. Pennant's work rate is a bit low too IMO. He tracks back a hell of a lot. Unfortunately, Ethers probably should take a dip after this season. So should Mama, he's too good technically. Possibly Whelan too, in the game he's miles better than Whitehead, and in real life he isn't that much better. And make Shawcross and, Wenger and Ramsey each other's "Favoured Personnel" And bring back Peter Hoekstra

Concentration is the defensive equivalent of composure. Composure works for the attacking side, I will probably up them both a little however.
Walter, Delap, Wilkinson and a few others will take CA hits this summer, however, their mental attributes and such will receive increases to make them better players with less ability. Rather than being more able players with less focus/determination to their game.
Basically this means it will look like its very easy to replace these players, but they will do as instructed better than most.
Here is where you'll see the point about mental stats, Whelan and Whitehead both have the exact same CA (130) there is nothing between them in those terms I kept them both even but tried to make them play differently. Whitehead will be one of those who gets a big overhaul this summer.

Yeah I'd say lower Mama quite a bit. I sold him in the first season but just before the end of year I was forced to play him, he scored 2 goals in his first game back and then 2 in the next 2. Ridiculously good for a player who's been out for ages.

I've just done my research on the Oatcake. Pulis should have a current ability of 25 with attributes of 3 at most for tactics. Ben Marshall should have a current ability of 180+ with a potential ability of 200.
In all seriousness though I do think that the current Stoke ratings are near enough what they should be. Ric is still capable of moments of magic but is on the decline and not quite good enough to be a regular. Deano is a bit rubbish, but at least he's consistent! And ultimately Bego, Huth and Shawcross are the only ones worth keeping hold of! ;D

I was never allowed to touch Ben Marshall's stats lol. He was always on loan and then he left so I never touched him - especially before he was 18!
Ric will get a bit more mental this summer whether he stays or not but aside from that he won't change too much.

Yeah I'd say that most of them are pretty fair, downgrading Palacios' fitness should do the trick to calm him a bit but he is very very good (I can't remember seeing him being that good on the game before though, maybe one of those quiet players in a big side).

I downgraded Palacios a little bit in January and it still didn't seem to stop him. I'm guessing it must be down to how the Tottenham researcher set his other stats, but if he's less fit he at least won't be as superb for so long. In one game I was still playing Palacios at 36 as I couldn't find anyone who played as well in his place for the same wages lol.

Maybe downgrade Jerome a bit? He seems to do really well a lot of the time.

How does the league reputation work? I've done the double twice now, and progressed to a good dtage in Europa both seasons, but the reputation fell by half a star in the Pro League. I have to start in the Champions league qualifiers now, and it's going to be harder to attract players.

It depends on how all the teams do in european competitions over the course of several years. Several teams need to do exceptionally well for 3/4 years to improve the leagues reputation. The problem you've encountered is the co-efficients which is purely for the european competitions and not on a global level.
The sides from the pro league must be doing quite bad overall and whilst you're doing well it's not enough to offset if the other sides are crashing out in the first round. The co-efficients are over 5 years so if two years really dip low you can find your nation getting much worse spots in the competitions.

Any news on the rest of the game?
Will they improve the loan system because I'm sick of having no bids for some of the best youngsters in the world when I'm trying to loan them out.

i know this might be a bit obvious but i feel our transfer budgets are low for what we outlay on a season to season basis.
somewhere between £15m and £20m in first season seems about right to me.

It's low because I put in the ballpark figure of £15 - £20m in the research then whatever the club has spent come the end of August 31st is deducted from the figure I put in. Last year for example up until August 31st the starting transfer budget was £20m exactly. Crouch & Palacios wiped out that.
