I found that starting with a specific goal helps. My overall goal is a) to win the WC with England and b) to have an England team will all Stoke players. That means that I have a set plan for what I need to do. First of all that means making Stoke a big enough force to produce quality players and poach them from any club in England. I think I've built a squad now that's capable of retaining the league without any improvements, so this summer I'm signing youth prospects from around the world while I improve my own youth setup, while also developing a core of quality English youths that I'm poached from lesser clubs (anyone but Man Utd/City and Arsenal).

It's something that can't easily be done over a season so it gives me a step by step goal to achieve. I know that this season I need to cut back on funds so that there's plenty extra to keep the facilities up to standards, where as the first 3 seasons all money was put into the first team.

So, after saying how not to get bored with a save I got a bit bored of my Stoke save.

Went back to my Macc Town save, went through an awful run of form where I dropped from 1st to 7th in about 2 months then turned it around and managed scrape into 3rd place in the final game of the season winning promotion to League 1. Then I got bored and resigned. Moved to Shenhua and looked at the horror of the Chinese league and it's squad systems. After being asked by the board to sign young players for the first team I went on to sign 4 30 year old defenders to go with the ancient Drogba and Anelka that're already in the team. The board aren't really complaining though because I've gone from 15th (There's 16 teams in the league) to 3rd with three games left. I lost my first game on penalties but since then I've won every game. This shit is easy.

Last game on the (First) season with Hertha Berlin. All I need to do is draw and i'm champions. If I lose however and Dresden and 1860 Munich win I'll be in the play-off spot. Tense!

Picked up my first save on the game. Charlton. Bottom of the league after two games, turned it round. Finished tenth in a campaign that included a 3-1 win at Old Trafford (Fuller scoring twice) and beating Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool. Also accompanied by numerous tonkings by sides such as Norwich and Swansea.

Trying to do something different this time and not sign players that I already know about, expand my player knowledge a bit (sorry Gylfi ), on a side note though. I fucking hate Brazil. Found a 16 year old wonderkid who's good enough to play in my team now and is available for £3.3m... Can't fucking join until next year though. -.-

Also signed an American wonderguy, he's 26 and his name's Geoff. Pretty excited about him.
