The good thing about being a researcher is just being able to look up a few tables to see most of the best players in the game, like Tim Wiese or Hugo Lloris would be much better choices to buy this year than Rene Adler, all 3 are about the same ability but the first two have better hidden stats.
Alan Hutton, Micah Richards and Rafinha are all good CA but bad on the hidden front, Steven Carr would be a better choice than these three, more long term try someone like Mathieu Debuchy.
Upfront avoid Benzema, Aguero, Nilmar, Adebayor, Klose and Cassano as they are horribly inconsistent. Garra Dembele is incredibly consistent though so even though he's not as good as any of those above, across the course of the season in a side creating chances I think he'd score more.

The German researcher has a reputation in the FM community for been somewhat a useless retard who does not have a clue.

He may not have seen too much of Huth recently and just seeing him at a relatively lofty figure had drawn some attention. Since the Chelsea game there has been no further points made, so I can only assume he's seen some sense in what I said. I'll leave others to judge the german researcher I am thinking a major rework of KJ though will speak to the head researcher when I get the files back in the next couple of days.

Is there no way we can view these hidden stats?

With either the pre-game editor you can (and change them too) or with an in-game editor that people usually make for the games can as well. It's worth being aware of them because sometimes bugs slip through that make certain players suspended indefinitely, or always with the international side and you can fix it if you can change their nationality or status.
There is a few though, consistency is the most important of the hidden stats, you could have a Lionel Messi like regen come through, but if he has 1 for consistency you'd only see him perform once every 25 - 30 games. If he had 20 consistency he'd perform at full tilt in almost all of them.
Consistency relates to how much of their ability they're regularly using, so even though KJ is one of Stokes highest ratings he has a low consistency so he will play amazing in 2 or 3 games and then have 5 or 6 where he does nothing much.
Others like professionalism affect training performance, adaptability is how well a player can adjust to new football cultures so if players are lacking on these fronts it can make a very good player seem very ordinary.

FM11 can fuck off.
120th minute, offside goal and 2 injuries to my injury ravaged side.
Not fucking impressed.

Downloaded FM Genie scout. Made myself a rule that all players must be at least 14 in consistency, unless they are something really special, then 10 or 9 at a push. This genie scout thing makes it easy for me to find these beauties ;D Signed a few players, all with high consistency, I used to just try and get high potential players but loads of them are shit in consistency.

Started a new game recently, built a good side with Stoke, won 3 out of 3 to start, Blackburn, West Brom and Birmingham I beat, scored 10, conceded 3, yet Alex Ferguson beat my to manager of the month. Fucking prick.

Fucking prick. I finished top of the league without losing a game (and only drawing 2) in the Blue Square South, only won about half the MotM awards and didn't win manager of the season (despite my team being predicted as definitely relegation fodder.

From my past experience, for some reason getting out of the lower leagues is a piece of piss, there's so many decent players flying around a free, if you capture even just 3 of them usually you'll get promotion. My biggest challenge when i was Stafford Rangers a couple of years ago wasn't winning the prem, or the FA cup, it was getting promotion from the Championship, took me 3 seasons.

One of my biggest gripes in FM is that the fans are devastated after a loss away from home at Man Utd, one of our 'closest rivals'
This needs to be changed, we hate them but we're not rivals.

Man Utd are actually gone from our rivals list, I was finding it a bit cringeworthy they were our major rivals in the game. Vale and Crewe head the list now, then Wolves, WBA, Arsenal fill the next bracket with Birmingham, Derby (few people on here said this was more historical) and Cardiff. The Birmingham and Cardiff ones aren't permanent so over time if we don't play them they will fade.

Derby The Arsenal one is udnerstandable, it's just pretty annoying when 9 times out of 10 (at least) when you start with the original Stoke side you will lose away, and more often then not at home aswell. And then on the board update they will bitch at you. I hate Arsenal on FM almost as much as in real life, I played in in an FA cup semi, winning 2-0 with 10 minutes to go, and for some reason my keeper kept rushing way out of the box so they just booted it in No idea if I accidently did something but I was gutted, lost on Pennos in the end.

Derby aren't a high one, and Arsenal is in just because of the hassle of recent seasons, and to as a follow on from the 70's One reason to like Upson is as I've just been looking through his profile in the database he already hates Dave Kitson lol.

That's probably why then, just a bit of a chuckle when I was looking through players information (we've had to give everything reasons, where possible, for why its there, on the positive side at least because of new additions to the database) in other news the German researcher has seemingly backed right down on Huth and ceased with any questionning of his attributes. I did concede that Huth was a bit too technically gifted but they were barely weighted attributes and I actually pushed his concentration up a bit further so he's lost 2 CA but as an actual defender he's better than he was before
