THIRTY QUID!? Remember I'm a filthy, peasant student Al ;D I'll go for a jog tomorrow, see how far I can run first because I know I can't do three/four miles just yet. Literally done nothing in terms of running for five years and I'm just not fit at all anymore If, say, I did a mile for a week, then the week after did two miles and so on and so forth, do you reckon that'll work? yes, and in no time at all you'll catch them 80 year old grannies you should be able to do at least 2 miles at a slow pace straight off

this discomfort is spreading, think I may have a hernia, back to the docs on Monday (well at least try and get an appointment in the next 3 weeks) Get it checked out Northy..and I hope for your sake you get a friendly, young female Doctor to assist in diagnosing your 'groin' strain... ;D all checked out, local GP and then BUPA, no hernia which is good news, I'd torn my abductor muscle, strained the groin and tendon, and then pulled a back muscle, probably using the rowing machine too much to compensate for not running I'm like frank spencer ;D good news though, the abductor muscle is healing and its the scar tissue causing the discomfort and I need to jog slightly to help it heal properly

steady 7 miles this morning, ran as slow as Orbs just to do things gradually Had to stop twice and tell fat people to pick up their dogs shit

I've been trying to go running about 5 times a week but the best I've ever managed is 3.
I've got that Nike+ GPS app that tracks the route and shows you where you went fastest/slowest... it also tells you at regular intervals your distance/average speed and how you're doing compared to previous runs. Such a good app!

I started Pilates class tonight, core and lower back strengthening etc. I felt awkward as I was the only man there, the 'on all fours and do the cat stretch' was interesting, especially as I'd positioned myself at the back of the room
