55 miles on the road bike completed at a steady pace. Encountered quite a few people running on our route, loads of them, all over the road they were, very odd indeed. Apparently there was some sort of road race going on.
Strange folk ;0)

I'm currently resting my arse for a few days as it feels like Mike Tyson has fisted me. Padded shorts are good but i'm still getting really bad pain on my sit bones.

My average depends on terrain, distance, the weather and generally how I'm feeling. 30-60 mile rides I try to average 17-18 depending on the route.under that distance maybe a little more.sometimes I switch the computer off and just enjoy the ride, I'm getting too old these days ! Just concentrate on your miles and time in the saddle, speed will come naturally.
Rest days are just as important as riding so you're doing the right thing having a break.dont worry, you'll toughen up down there ;0)
What are you riding ?

Got myself a Defy1, just followed reviews really, it was at the top of my budget but I'm really happy with it.

Did you go clipless with the pedals or play safe with platforms ? Get yourself on Strava too if you're not already. Great motivator.

Yeah clipless from day 1 mate, very weird after 10 plus years on "normal" bmx pedals but certainly helps with putting the power down.
I'm using Endomondo at the minute and been really impressed with the free version, especially the website side of things.
Have you got the subscription version of strava? Is it worth the money if so?

I'm on the free version of Strava but I link it with Veloviewer for loads more info. Neither make me go any quicker unfortunately ;0) I'm a lot slower than I used to be but I'm not too bad for my age group. I'm just happy to clock the miles these days to be honest.

That VeloViewer looks really good, might have to have a little go with Strava when I have some bike time.

I don't understand why clipless pedals are called clipless. THEY'VE GOT CLIPS! (or at the very least cleats) normal pedals are clipless.

Old style pedals were flat with toe clips at the front that you buckled into.no toe clips with cleats so they're clipless.

Also what bike you rocking Arry? Some carbon beauty i presume. Sorry, missed this one. I'm riding a Cube Agree GTC. It's the 2012 model with full 105 groupset and Easton Aero wheels with Ultremo ZX tyres.Fully carbon too. I had a good look around for months when I decided to upgrade from my Specialised and for the money I couldn't find a better set up.Well impressed so far after 2,500 miles. Just need some new legs and lungs and I'm sorted !!

I'm only a wheel upgrade away from having a bike i'd happily ride for a long time in all honesty, I just see other bikes and want them as well. ;D
