Had a mare of a 10K yesterday. Had to stop at 6K because two of my toenails had gone black. All the ambulance people could offer was "we'll put a plaster on it" which was useless so I just ran without socks. Then at 7K I had to stop to go for a wee (I didn't do a Paula, there were Portaloos) then shortly after my shoelaces came undone, twice. Without the stops I would have done an average of 8.5 min miles and I still managed to finish it in 57 minutes so I'm hoping for an under 50 at the Lichfield 10K next week. Getting faster just need to go further, considering a marathon to enter next year any recommendations for an easy beginners course?? ;D Manchester in April, or Liverpool in May, they have announced a rock n roll marathon, they are decent, Belfast and Madrid were 2 this year.

Ran from Delamere forest to Beeston Castle and back today, 16 miles with plenty of hills, legs still itching and stinging from nettles 9 hours after, sore arms from running through corn and also had the pleasure of being chased by a cow Bet Mrs Northy doesn't know you call her that....

Second parkrun today with a change of tactics. Last time I went out 'quick' and got knackered but just managed to hold on for a time of 27.59. This time I decided to start steadier and then open up in the last mile or so - worked a treat with a PB in......... 27.58 ;D WTF! - 26.16 today I'll be winning it by Christmas

Cycling is for people with no friends Seems a good fit for you. I love bikes as long as they are upwards of 600cc's and about 100bhp. Cycles .... leave them to the kiddies, the tree huggers, and those who haven't got the balls to ride a real bike ...... toot toot ..... tootle on

Didnt have the best marathon, tight hamstring before I went, woke up with what seemed like a hangover, but was a stinking cold and got an ear infection Managed to get round in 3 hour 57 mins though, but couldn't run as fast as I wanted owing to the hamstring, went the physio and I've now strained it, got to rest for 2 or 3 weeks. Oh and at 4 in the morning, some lucky buggers were smashing the headboard against the wall in the room next door, couldn't do anything, had to save the legs ;)tired...
