Decided to get meself one of them Heart Rate jobbies that talks to your running apps (Wahoo Blue HR if you're interested) So it would appear i'm even more unfit than I realised, kept telling me I was running at 90-100% of max heart rate. Just out of interest, is it a bit ill advised/dangerous to keep that rate for this amount of time??

Having physio on my back later.
My fitness is probably at about 15% of what it usually is owing to this cunting back.

Well it turned out not to be sciatica but a trapped nerve and muscle in spasm, lost feeling in my toes in the right foot and thought 'that's not quite right' been having physio for 5 weeks now, had a few 'tom daley's' (pricks in the buttocks ) acupuncture from the back to the toe, can't run or do sit ups, so have taken the opportunity for a few beers and bad food, it's amazing how quickly you notice the old waistline changes, hopefully I'll be able to get back into it soon.

I had a month off after the Congleton Half and put nearly half a stone on, it is shocking how quickly a body can go to seed. However it doesn't take long to get back into shape either. Ran the Christmas Cracker dressed as an elf yesterday, god damn hard work 8 miles and up the Roaches with a 1600m climb. At the finish we had a choice of beer or socks, what a ridiculous question ;D Think I'm going to concentrate on the off-road stuff next year, I found it alot more hard work than road running but it's more fun.

You have warm feet now then

I stepped up to 10 miles yesterday from 10k the week before when I did the Marbury 10k, a new race, hilly and not a PB event. Slowly edging back into it.
