How likely is riding a bike to burn a gut off, in 12 months I've gone from a ♥0" waist to a >32" waist and pad gained about 1.5 stone.... Around my middle!
I'm not changing my diet (it's not that unhealthy but high calorie), I don't like exercise but don't mind a bit of cycling.

Cycling properly is one of the best ways to lose weight, key is to go regularly.
4-5 days a week i'd say.
An hours cycle for me (17-18 miles) burns 1000 calories.

Ive barely got time to go 1-2 times a week never mind 4-5 times! I don't realy do roads, more tracks, canals n shit so 18 miles in an hour is more like a 2.5 mile ride for me. I'm not after weight loss in general, just off my gut.

All diets are stupid. Eat generally healthy and even unhealthy in moderation, take some exercise and you'll be a normal human being. You can pay me millions of dollars for that fucking depth of insight.

Jesus hates Christ.
Just been on my bike for the first time in god knows how long, thought I'd break myself in with a ride along the tow path from Burslem to Stone; quick pint and a bowl of chips in Stone then back.
I cannot begun to explain the pain that my thighs are in, I was almost reduced to tears as I pushed my sorry ass past Fail Park.
It has just taken every morsel of my remaining energy to prepare a bacon n egg sarnie.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that I seriously do not think that I will be able to walk in the morning, I just had to slide down the stairs on my bum.

The good thing about hills is what goes up must come down. And 35 miles on a bike is a piece of piss. The pain you are feeling is because you've had a break it'll improve once your body gets used to it again. How little is your little un? You could get a tandem On another note I'm running my first 20 mile race in two weeks. Bricking it.

Just do what Lance Armstrong did, I'm sure someone on here can get you some drugs. We removed a rather splendid looking pot plant from a void property today, beautifully tended given the rest of the place was covered in dog shit. I dare you to get a yellow jersey with Armstrong 7 on the back and do it in that.

Little 'un is ok, think I squashed a testicle but the Little 'un remained intact! 35 miles on a flat bit of land is do-able for most but this is called "the peaks" so it's well outside my ability.... I'll do it though and raise some pennies for Genesis Breast cancer awareness. Did another 20m tonight, Congleton and back which wasn't so bad. Gonna get me some of those miracle energy gels, and some proper sports clothes as I'm riding in Bermuda shorts and an old cotton t shirt! Ps running can fuck off, it hurts my knees! But good luck!

I've been concentrating on 10k runs for the Stoke 10k then going to move onto half marathons ready for Angelsey in February next year. Don't reckon it will be a massive jump as I was doing 15k anyway. Only problem I've been having lately is an ache on the outside of my calves. I think it's pretty standard since I'm still a newbie and building up my strength.
